I'm being quoted €80 per tooth by my Dentist which sounds expensive for one tooth to me. It's part of 6 teeth which need to be filled with him this month so I'm looking at a considerable outlay.

What is the average cost for a filling by a Dentist in Dublin usually?

Sound on the low side of average. Around 80 - 180 euro per tooth depending on size of filling and material used.

    Wow!

And there was me thinking it was crazy expensive.

This is probably a question for my Dentist when I see him, but I presume there's some working Dentists on here: will the fillings save decaying teeth, or at least keep them going a few years more?

    Cheers

Isn't that the whole idea?? I have had fillings in several teeth for decades and I haven't lost one of those teeth yet - albeit some fillings have had to be renewed from time to time.

€80 is around what i pay at my dentist in dublin city center. And fillings will definitely save decaying teeth. I have several fillings that have been in place for 20+ years.
