Well I for one would equally dislike Sarah Mc and Paul Williams, so I'm a bi-sexist I guess.

No you are not bi-sexist you are just missing the point. It's about the type of criticism or abuse towards one or the other.

You should probably stay off the internet if you take everything so seriously. I don't go around foaming at the mouth giving out about broadcasters in real life.

And there it is, the brush off. Must have been killing you to not call the poster a snowflake.

It's not about taking things too seriously or looking for offence, the disparity between how male and female hosts are discussed is blantantly obvious.

I'm not in the least bit offended by any of it, just expect there to be no place for such ****e here.

I can't stand Sarah McInerney, but anyone who thinks some of the criticism isn't sexist is kidding themselves

In fairness after listening to Ciara Kelly on the breakfast show Sarah is fine. Yes she is very opinionated and maybe drive is not the place for her but I do believe she got royally sc$%^£d in the shake up. Others that have got high opinions are as I said Ciara Kelly, Paul Williams, Ciaran Cuddihy

Unfortunately you are not allowed to say anything bad about women or youre sexist .men have to take criticism but women can't .
I find because women in everyday life don't get told off they tend to be more annoying a species as men get told off if they act the ads and therefore don't go through life unaware of how annoying they are

Some of the comments about Sarah McInerney on here would never be made about a man, so yes it is sexist.

There's a difference between criticising her and then some of the stuff I've had to read here. Let's not pretend some OTT things haven't been said please.

The fact you're wildly missing the point and that
you read as if you're about 12 I doubt you have much of an understanding and life experience to backup anything in your statement.

Have you read anything in this thread or are you just diving in feet first? You don't even have to go back a page or two for the examples.

Well you are the one outraged. Show us what has upset you so....

Again it's obvious you haven't read further back than the post you just replied to. At least put a bit of effort in.

On topic. I'm not familiar with Sarah as a journalist. But it is a good decision to remove her from Drive. IMO, she came across as very inexperienced. Always stumbled her words when reading script. And full of umms and ehhhs..
She has a very good voice in fairness. And that matters in radio. But her presentation never felt in control or well prepared. She seemed to always enjoy a quick laugh when topics went onto something she was familiar with.. That's natural I suppose. Like a previous poster said, I think she will do better on a weekend slot with good prep and less pressure. Drive Time is very competitive and requires hard work. So hopefully she takes the decision well and uses it to improve her presentation skills.
I'll miss Chris. I won't miss his super pronounced 'T's' :) But he was polished and very interested in topics covered and well researched. Lacks a bit of umph vocally at times but that's just my preference. I think he will be happy with what is viewed as a promotion.
Overall it's the right decision. I've listened to NT since day 1 and this show has been a poor experience. Same goes for mornings.. And I would also support giving Moncrieff back the 30mins lost in reshuffle.

I'm only involved at volunteer community radio level. But when that red light goes on.. It's very real. I love it. But I'm fascinated with the effect it has on people and their voices at times. So it's very easy for us to criticise etc. But not many of us could do a drive time show on commercial radio and not be ripped a new one by Boardsies :-)

She was on the 6 o’clock show the other day, described as "One of Ireland’s leading broadcasters"

Moderator: We have undertaken a review of this thread for the past few days and quite clearly a lot of the comments that have been made are against the forum charter and site rules. Cards will be issued in relation to that review in due course.

To be clear, sexism and personal abuse of presenters are not allowed on this forum.

Heard a big promo from him on with the morning show earlier. He was talking as if it was the show today?

No wonder when its the last Newstalk Drive when the presenter couldnt even say his colleagues name without stumbling over it twice.

Had to stop listening to Drivetime because Sarah Mc is an insufferable fool. Has she never heard of impartial journalism? Imagine being married to that mouthy yoke, Christ. Had to stop listening in the mornings because Paul Williams. No need to explain that one. Had to stop listening to off the ball because of how seriously the main presenter takes the sporting issues they're discussing, like it's the nuclear missile crisis. They should take a look at the Guardian football podcast and James Richardson on how to have a light hearted approach to sport. It is after all only sport. So I've finally turned into my parents and it's RTE1 in the mornings and evenings now till I die probably.

    Couldn't have put it better..!!

Chris was a week gone, he did a legger and came back to an inside promotion within Communicorp and not a far lesser quality contract. if he didn't directly cause the end of the show he knew well in advance what was coming down the tracks.
