Saorview cable connection question

I had a Saorview/ freesat installation done in the house a couple of years back. The installer fixed a satellite dish and a Saorview Ariel to the roof and ran a combined saorview/ freesat coaxial lead to a ariva 150 box downstairs.

He also ran a combined coax cable to the upstairs bedroom in case we got a tv in the future for there. I bought a tv the other day for it but it does not have a coax input just an rf one. That is fine as I only want it for Saorview. What type of adapter do I need to hook the coax into the rf input? And is there anywhere in the Dublin area I can pick it up from?

A co-ax and and RF input on a TV are the same thing. They are Belling Lee connectors, the TV has a female socket and the aerial lead a male plug. The male co-ax plug will be available in your local supermarket or similar.

Example here of what you're looking for, I'm assuming you mean 'f-connector' by 'coax input'?

Don't know of a specific place you'd pick one up, anywhere that does electrical stuff would be worth trying.

Is there a cable with an f-type connector (threaded coaxial connector) or is there a wall socket ?

If there is already a cable with an f-type connecor an adapter like http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/F-to-tv-coax-connector-adapter.html would do the job.
