Looking for a bot of work to be done on my VW in the coming weeks, don't want to deal with rip off dealers!

Any suggestions for good VW mechanics in Dublin?

    Cheers :)

What are you looking to get done?

What are you looking to get done?

Timing belt and water pump replacement, couple hours labor. I don't have the space to do it myself

A number of Dublin VW dealers are doing a special at the moment of €399 for a t.belt and water pump replacement on any VW car. You get 12 months AA homestart cover with that too.

Realistically every garage in the country has experience with working on Volkswagens :)

That doesn't make them good or a specialist though , i'd have a tug most days but i'm no expert on mickeys.

It doesn't make them bad either though.

I'd look for a specialist if I had a Bentley or a Lamborghini or even a W12 Touareg or maybe even an old VR6 or something, but the OP doesn't specify what car they have.

If it's something fairly ordinary I'd just look for a good local mechanic recommendation as most will have plenty of experience with VAG 4 banger diesels as they are probably the most popular diesel in the country. I say diesel as most of the petrols from the last decade or so are chain.
