Went to have a look at it today, I must have been one of the first as it was still in French, doesn't seem like he's had many queries on it as he was still fairly green about it.

Anyway it fits us but just about, I'm only 5ft7, if I was any taller, I think it would impact on where i had the 2nd row and in turn the legroom of the 3rd. We would be using it as a 6 seater so there's no problems with boot space. We are looking at 39k for a GT line, 2k more than a Sorento but the mpg is much better. I'm not sold on it yet, she is.

Really... I'm 5.11 and sat in the middle row and had PLENTY of head room. Sure it was the right car you were looking

Went to see it today. 3 seats in 2nd row is where it stands out in my opinion.
Can I ask where you getting a new sorento for 37k. Thought they start at 42k for 7 seater?

But with the seats up which you would need for the kodiaq the boot room is minimal. My missus is the same prefers the kodiaq

We have 4 kids that range from 4 - 14. We don't have a need for buggies etc. We are at the hurley/helmet stage. Also, I'm not really in the car that much so my eldest boy who is 5'10" can sit in the front. So really both cars were a good option.

But when I brought my wife and kids down to see the Peugeot and seated everyone in the car we found the following issues.
    1. rear view visibility was terrible. (Headrests are terrible)
    2. seating position in 2nd row is not good. (knees are elevated due to high floor)
    3. headroom is not great. ( Don't even think of a sunroof )
    4. My wife thinks it still looks like an MPV

Fair enough, really appreciate the feedback.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, I will have a 5 year old at time of purchase, 3 1/2 year old and a new one just into this world (fingers crossed)

So we're sadly still in at least one buggy stage,

God I wish they made some decent saloons that can take 3 child seats in the back :(

Same setup as you with a baby seat, high back booster for 3.5 year old and bum bum seat in middle for 5 year old. All in back of a tuscon

Your kids are young so maybe head rest etc will not be a problem.
Other than that, have you tried the Ford Mondeo. I think they can take a combinations of child seats and bumpers.

Drive a mondeo 08 1.6 petrol. No joy with 3 seats.

    Thanks for that.

Much appreciated. I do like the look of the Tucson

Sorry, worded it wrong, the issue if I was taller would be that my seat would be pushed back, more due to the way I like to sit and this would have impacted on the 2nd and 3rd rows.

As for height, it felt roomy, with the seats in the position I would have them, I was able to put our eldests child seat in the back and sit "on" and I had leg room.

Not sure if a pram would fit across the boot but I'm sure you could do it as a 6 seater.

2 bellow are nearly 38, both 172 ( my figures where off a bit) but the mpg could screw you over, we do a fair bit of mileage and we estimated that it would be an €1100 saving per year on fuel.

I echo that. I'm 6' 3 and had adequate head room in middle row when I viewed one today. Although if the sunroof reduces it by a few inches it wouldn't be an option. Nice car, need to take for a text drive in the next few weeks.

You both might be sold more on the GT Line. Im thinking of not even looking at that Active model. It doesn't really stick out for me at all, so if I can I might wait for a GT Line to view.
Think I mentioned already, there has been a face lifted Sorento launched in Korea, with slightly different exterior and interior and also an 8 speed auto if that interests you.

I echo this, got a quote of 37K for brand new Sorento 2WD Platinum at Kia Motors Kilcullen. That was probably a year ago though.

There are a couple of videos going around, I think from the Swiss motor show,on display was a GT line with GT seats which is an available added extra, once she's back from work, we are off for a test drive, but there seems to be very little information available to the dealers about added extras (or maybe that's just our dealer)

I wouldn't say the sorento in an option for us now due to the mpg, it's a shame though as I owned a 05 (I know, completely different to what they are now) and I always regretted selling it buy I was averaging 35mpg.

Was all over the one loonams had at the Tullamore show & it gets a 8/10 from me & the family.

So will be looking at the Allure 1.2 petrol 130 manual. The 3 seats were magic for the kids, 10/9/7yrs + i found them good to @6'2 with drivers seat right back. 1 point minus for the boot seats pop out for removal but once done the cover collapses in, & the other minus would be the back doors should be the sliding version otherwise a very nicely appointed vehicle.

Make an effort to get the automatic, really...

If the doors were sliding, it would look like an MPV. And that's exactly what buyers don't want.

My i ask why an auto? never owned one. Getting my head around a petrol instead of a gasoil is hard enough!!

& yes i take your 2nd point on the chin.

Went for the test-drive today, everyone is happy an our eldest gave it a thumbs up too.

Stuck between the Allure (with the Claudia seats) @ €37 or the GT-Line, am questioning if the extra 2k is worth it, there is nothing that it very important but a few extra touches that may add up.

I wonder could you option in an Allure model with the GT Line face ala 3008 Allure :P

The rest wouldn't bother me (that much, maybe a little). I think the GT Line Stitching effect looks a tad silly (cheap) the way it ends at the touchscreen panel. I have found the panoramic roof a waste of time on our own car.

Are led lights worth the extra aswell I wonder?

I preferred the allure and the pricetag made that even more appealing. The nicer seats @ 900e closes that gap though
What is pushing the GT line for my wife is the park assist. You can (in France anyway) pimp the GT line a bit GP seats but this will set you back 2500e.
Apart from the park assist, all other extra are nice but in no way needed to keep three kids happy in the back.

Unless I misunderstood, that's the GT. The GT line has the half leather/half something seats which i find lovely. The full leather ones look a bit outdated for some reason. I would really prefer a light coloured option as well.

Double post sorry, but does anyone know for sure if the spec for 3008 will be exact same for 5008? Dealers are a bit vague when it comes down to the details.

I was told the same, I had a quick Google of the French reviews and the leather/cloth options are the same on both, same with the wheel options.

Exactly. That's what I was told aswell. Is gt line worth the extra money I wonder

For example on the French spec pdf, it says that the automatic foot waving that opens the boot is extra. Online in reviews it seems to be included in the gt-line. In another review it says that 3d navigation is included while in another site they say it's extra. So I am not too sure what's the story exactly. A dealer today told me they are going to have the full spec list start of September.

For some the bigger engine and more power is worth it. Some don't care.
Some will spent a fortune on automatic gearbox. Some cannot be bothered (and those are WRONG ;))

Similarly some will want every gadgets, while others not... If they are worth the money depends on the person you ask.

    ---

The two significant options in the GT-Line are Led Headlights - and if they are the adaptive type, they are absolutely brilliant. Plus the iCockpit - which I am not really sold to. It works brilliantly in VAGs, but would have to be fast in the Pug. The rest are just gimmicks really IMHO.

Nevertheless if buying new I would want the LED Headlights. You will not see the difference in the monthly payment, but will see the difference on the road.

I would agree with this. Our S-Max has the adaptive LED headlights, and they are brilliant - especially on side roads on dark, rainy nights. They really help in being able to pick out the verges on bad roads.

It wasn't something I was especially looking out for, but the high-spec S-Max I found happened to have then, and I'm totally sold on them now.

    According to the following from Peugeot Ireland (and I don't know how accurate it is);

GT Line models boast self-levelling full LED headlamps, LED fog lamps with cornering function, LED sequential scrolling front indicators, door mirror mounted LED Peugeot Lion approach lights, black diamond roof, panoramic opening sunroof with electric blind and blue ambient lighting, Peugeot Open and Go keyless entry and push button start, Park Assist (parallel & row) with front & rear camera and 360 degree vision (Visiopark 3) and a Smartphone charging plate. Features include chrome side window trim, sports front bumper design, twin exhaust effect trim and 18” matt two-tone diamond cut alloys, leather effect and cloth seat trim with double stitch detail, full grain perforated leather steering wheel and tramonte black roof lining.

In all honesty I personally would pay the extra (3K I think) for that. As Grogi pointed out, I too have reservations about the quality of the iCockpit and Infotainment. At first glance the infotainment looks a tad dated and of mediocre quality, but I haven't seen it in the flesh or used it.
