Any shower of rain and croker turns into an ice rink

    Good start by Tyrone

I was looking forward to these games on RTE- only now do I see they've been pimped out to Sky.

We have an evening of Camogie instead. Both the people who'll actually watch that will be delighted.

I am looking forward to proper analysis of both games rather than soundbites and vendettas

I'd really love to discuss RTÉ vs Sky again!

Whatever about the quality of the respective programs, you'd imagine the national broadcaster could televise the All Ireland quarter finals.

Did they not always have these before?

"Armagh trying to frustrate Tyrone with that tactic...even though Tyrone are 3 points up". Dear God.

Armagh looking limited when space is blocked up

    Tyrone cruising

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,490 ✭✭✭✭km79

Game is slipping away from Armagh already

The exact quote that made me post my opinion.

A very sanitised world we live in now.

I harken back to days when there'd be little scraps and digs in
every corner of the field. And the first big schmozzel would have broken
    out by now as well.

Armagh will do well to score a point in this half. One way traffic and it doesn't look like changing.

Game over Clarke being found out against the big boys

Surprised at the poor crowds in for this one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

    And that's game over already.

James Morgan is a liability, he should have been black carded before he gave away the penalty.

Armagh look completely out of their depth.

Gough is consistent with pulling on off the ball stuff
If every ref did the same (or umpires were able to do their job) it would go along way to cutting it out

Tyrone defense is so good and Armagh are misfiring.

You could add twenty points to Armagh now and they'd still lose this
    game with flying colours.

With very little attention being paid to the ball, a lot of games in the old days finished up with scores like 1-6 to 0-7.

    Dick Clerkin is awful
    That is a black card

Blatant black card and about time they got one, Clerkin is a joke.

    100%
Problem is the next ref might give a yellow
Joe McQuillan fir example seemed to have a diff rule book last week

You see it from a certain angle on the TV. The ref might see it from a different angle in real time. None of them have the benefit of a slowed down rerun to help with their decisions. Cameras are more reliable than human eyes in some decisions.

I'm afraid this is Division 1 football against division 3 and Tyrone will win this pulling up.

Of course BUT their interpretation of the black card rule seems to differ game to game official to official

As i said on the Football ranking table thread, Armaghs quality may have looked higher in their round 4 tie because they were up against a wide open Kildare defence that didn't seem to learn nothing from the Leinster final. Today they are up against a more organized defence and Armagh are looking anything but quality today as their players aren't given the same time and room on the ball and are making loads of errors under Tyrones pressure the ball.
