There's a poster over in the Kildare fourm saying how he knows a farmer taking advantage of French students by making them sleep in a shed and not feeding them enough so the students have to resort to calf rations and berries from the ditch.

Some are saying it's bs, but I'd say similar is happening all over the country.
that thread was highlighted here before...the refusal of the poster to report it themselves speaks volume

I was thinking of converting some wheelie bins for their accommodation to save space in the sheds.

anybody listening to the guy from ICMSA on newstalk debating the vegan Yesterday? We lost that one.
Farm lobbies have to wake up and realise that the vegan lobby isn't stupid. Misinformed and wrong yes, but not stupid

The vegan lobby has one target, farmers
The farming lobby has at least 5 targets, not really a fair fight :p

We have two French students here. First off, they wouldn't eat berries. They are on calf nuts alright, but only picking at them. When they are up to 1Kg/day, they'll be out the door like the rest of them. Allez Les Bleus!

Did any of you see that Britain are banning the sale of Petrol and Diesel Vehicles from 2040. I'm sure Ireland will probably do the same. I dont even want to think about what an electric tractor will be able to pull :(.

I heard someone say their wife drove a tesla from Dublin to Wexford and when she got on the motorway in Dublin she didn't have to touch the steering wheel or the pedals all the way to the end of the motorway below gorey.
That's just amazing the way technology has gone.

It was nice of the GAA club to give one of them a reference. Seems to have worked as they got the usual handy slab on the wrist and a small fine.

You say that as a joke but the Brazilians in Gort were certainly taken advantage of by farmers in somewhat recent years..

    What happened there?

In your post you suspected that all farmers treat workers like the alleged poster said. That's a fairly sweeping statement. If what the poster is saying is true I dont believe boards is were they should be reporting it to, do you?

My vet is right good at scanning and he always says 6weeks is optimum.

Although he has said when in calf at 4 weeks and he would be right. (I'd see them bulled and he'd scan to match.)

You are suggesting that with the tens of thousands of farms across the country, there's no isssues with mistreatment of workers, correct?

Of the tens of thousands of farms how many have employees that aren't family.
