Yeah, I spotted that this morning and it looks like only part of the story being told. The whole eating calf ration part kinda took any seriousness out of it.

If it is that cooked calf stuff I won't say I haven't been tempted myself. Especially with a big dollop of warm milk on it.

Saves coming out of the dairy for breakfast.

A cooked breakfast is usually very tasty!

Youngest son and I recently re-visited the Natural History Museum in Dublin. I used to regularly bring both sons to the Natural and Archaeological museums when they were growing up. I was looking forward to the visit and been educated by the youngest with his recent degree. During our walk around we both pondered on that black and white picture of the dead Blue Whale in Wexford.
Anyway within a week or so I partially heard a radio programme (RTE or Newstalk??) about a guy who made a documentary (??) about his endeavors into researching the history of the Wexford Whale.
The Natural History Museum in London are going to unveil the skeleton of this female blue whale that was captured in Wexford all those years ago. Unfortunately I cannot post a link as the rural internet is ****e.

Not much traffic on the internet at this time of night so here go's fingers crossed - a link to the Natural History Museum exhibit in London with the Blue Whale.

If I could wave a magic wand I would love to bring youngest to the Natural History Museum in London after his conferring (October) as a present for his achievement.
Do I need my passport up to date? His is so no worries there.
About how much for flights and accommodation for a weekend in London?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,581 ✭✭✭Shpudnik

Ryanair will get you there and back cheap anyway and plenty of options in terms of flight times.

You don't need to stay in the centre as the public transport is a dream compared to here. You will pick up a hotel cheap enough on the out skirts and you can use your debit card on the underground like a leap card.

That museum is well worth a visit (although watch out for pickpockets- a young naive me lost £600 rent one time there) and you can't put a value on experiences like that with your family.

Sterling is cheap at the moment. I got a Revolut card and app for the phone and preload it with euro and convert it to sterling at the days rate. At the moment I've had no fees. And will use that card only for buying from abroad online and when in U.K.

I find the rates in post office awful.

Dog was barking here at 2 am. Looked out the window and could hear voices. Also what looked like a flashlight in my parents garden. Turned out my mother bought a solar lighthouse for her garden yesterday and the light rotates. The voices was a drunken pair going down the road.

Yeah, the site is very slow to load posts since last night and some functions time out because of the wait for them to load.

I've heard nothing about what's wrong or if/when it will be fixed but there was some software stuff going on a day or two ago. It may just be a surge on internet usage causing the problems and it will settle itself.

    I hope your ok.

Parts of New Zealand’s South Island have been declared a state of emergency amid warnings of a “significant winter storm” on the way.
Extensive flooding across parts of Waitaki, Dunedin, broader Otago and greater Christchurch on Friday have forced authorities to declare an emergency and initiate evacuations of residents in low-lying areas.
The New Zealand Defence Force has mobilised additional troops to help rescue people caught in rising floodwaters and help provide emergency services.

Seems appropriate for the Irish lads out there.

What pour on are ye using and is there much difference in performance between brands ?
There is a huge difference in price , I see Closamectin @ £295 for 2.5ltr and then Ivomec Claasic ;95 for 2.5 ltr , better again is Imec ;295 for 2.5 ltr
Am I missing something obvious or should I just go for the cheapest one ?
