I can see Conor actually claiming he has more money than Floyd with this. Also, Dana said he will be at every stop of the press conference next week, sounds like it's gonna be a bit of a circus.

If he does, he is a clown.

A little bit of investigating shows this up:
Mayweather topped the Forbes list of highest paid athletes in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and was ranked number 34 in a list of America’s richest entrepreneurs under 40 last year.

Comparisons to Tyson are mute as well as there is no Don King walking around with Mayweather.

He is filthy rich, simple as that.

Kavanagh is a moron. McGregor is the one going round getting called out for standing on rented cars and describing leased planes as "me own yoke."

He needs to shut the **** up but I guess he's pretty bored as he had nothing to contribute as head coach for a boxing match.

Floyd has made way, way more money than Conor in his career that much is fact.

As for John - I agree with first half of your sentence and disagree with second half. It's like saying a foreman on a building site should shut his mouth when it comes to roofing and cladding. To say he has nothing to offer for this fight is unfair.

Do you think Sir Alex Ferguson was out on the training pitch with Edwin van der Saar teaching him specifics on positioning for corners? Obviously no, but we wouldn't call him useless when it came to goalkeepers either.

Ferguson would have been the one who employed Eric Steele as the goalkeeping coach and trusted him to oversee the 5 keepers in the squad and report back to him. If VdS was going through a bad patch it would fall to Ferguson to focus on the mental side of it to improve his confidence, either give him a rollicking or put an arm around his shoulder.

In a similar way, John was probably pivotal in organising everything from sparring partners, coaches, nutritionists, laying out the 10 week camp from the ground up, all of whom would report back. We already know for a fact that George Lockhart came into Team McGregor through John being impressed with an interview he did on The MMA Hour. Dr. Julian Dalby likewise came in through John.

I understand what you're saying - John isn't a striker nevermind a boxer so he may not be very useful in analysing if Conor is throwing the right jab to the body correctly. But to say he's useless is extremely harsh. I've no doubt he has put in hundreds of hours into this camp already between organisational stuff and overseeing training and will have a huge role on the mental side of stuff behind the scenes.

He has made a boat load of money, that much is simple.

He is surrounded by plenty of bad advisers. Anyone who advises a rich client to borrow $425,000 @ 16% interest is a clown.

Floyd's own father in 2015 said he believes Floyd will go bankrupt if he doesn't change his ways.

    Press conferences:

People living in America can watch all 4 press conferences live on Fox Sports 2 (FS2). I say 'live', obviously behind a 10-second delay to bleep out all Conor's swearing.

They will all be streamed on the official UFC youtube page for us. You'd have to imagine they will also air either live or on tape delay on tv here too, maybe 3E.

Sticking with Forbes as the source.
    Career earnings
    11. Mike Tyson: $685 million
    7. Floyd Mayweather Jr: $765 million

So, unsurprisingly Floyd has earned more than Tyson. But it's they aren't all that far apart.

Yeah but Floyd doesn't have Don King fleecing him.

Sorry, I was referring to the idea of Floyd going broke like Tyson did. Tyson only has about 5 mill to his name now apparently.

No, it's not as simple as that. Have you read any of the arguments against what you just said?

It doesn't matter a toss if Mayweather has more money than a Saudi prince, the fact that there is even talk of him possibly having financials issues in the media right now is all that there needs to be in order for taking the piss out of him in that regard to be something worthy of bringing up (with regards to trying to get under his skin at least). There is no way McGrgeor won't want to fire back in retaliation for the 'Mayweather Challange'. He's clearly bidded his time and not referenced it and this is his ideal opportunity for having a go back. Whether there is any truth to Floyd having financial difficulties is immaterial. It's all about perception.

Does Nate Diaz really take bike rides with the elderly? Was McGregor playing touch butt with Ido in the park? Nope to both but they sounded good given that people knew precisely what these remarks were referencing. It's all about exaggerating half truths and exploiting perceptions and there is no question Mayweather's petitioning the U.S. Tax Court seeking a postponement of action and citing money due to him after he fights McGregor as how he intends to pay the IRS, won't be on the tip of McGregor's tongue. Ffs like, he can basically say that Mayweather is only fighting him to pay off his debts. He'd be mad not to reference it.

Going broke and still having 5m in the back. Being broke sounds pretty good to me. :pac:

What difference will it make aside from selling a few more tickets?

The potential effect of the press confs is being massively over hyped.

Who gives a bollox if he brings up Floyd's dysliexia? Who gives a bollox if he squeezes reebok out of a few more quid??

Just a couple of things you've recently felt worthy of discussion.

You are writing massive paragraphs on the potential lines McGregor uses in a press conference, you've lost your mind.

McGregor couldnt knock Diaz out with MMA gloves, he hasnt got a prayer of doing anywhere near as much damage to Mayweather with proper boxing gloves.

Howz that? he battered him around the ring but Diaz kept on coming and was never likely to be knocked out. Proves McGregor hasnt got the power in his punch and even less so using proper boxing gloves.

Well just seen Showtime have the live events for the pressers primed on their youtube channel already. UFC will most likely have a stream I'd expect too.

Expect media like mmafighting, fighthype and seconds out to have live streams as well.

Expect the showtime and UFCs be the best for stream quality, but then we could have a tape delay for swearing etc that we won't have with the other broadcasters from lesser outlets.

The viewing figures could be crazy but they'll be spread over about 7 broadcasters and streaming services to get a true number.

    Perception my arse.

You're making up some sort of mad scenario now that Mayweather needs this fight to pay off some potential debt. Which you have no secure idea of even exists! He is trying to sell one of his Bugatti Veyrons and you think that he is in serious trouble.

McGregor can say all he wants about Mayweathers money or potential tax bill, it won't matter an ounce to Mayweather, he'll show up in one of his custom Rolls Royces wearing jewellery worth more than McGregors house and there won't be any tags on his jackets.

Anyone reckon Nate v Conor happens end of the year? Hopefully, cant wait to see the lad back in the Octagon.

I think McGregor fan boys are developing a inferiority complex on behalf of Conor with regards to the mens wealth, wishful thinking hoping Floyd is somehow broke.

No it won't be Nate, will be a LW title defense

McGregor's power isn't really up for debate. He has power in his left hand.

The question is whether he'll be able to hit Floyd on the button. All the power in the world is useless if you're hitting gloves or air.

i think the Nate fight will be parked for a while, hard to justify them fighting again when the Ferguson & Khabib fights can be made.

Maybe the fact that Diaz is a freak who's been Ko'd once in his career after a headkick that would knock most men into oblivion

I reckon they'll give Nate the title fight.
