Ok Phone arrived yesterday after about a week after ordering it, issue with DHL as I rang them.

Like the look of it and just did initial set up. Waiting for case and Dash Car Charger and Flip cover before I start using it. However noticed a lot of Google apps on it I don’t need and I cannot delete without rooting. Has anyone rooted yet using the method over on XDA? I was thinking of doing this before I start adding apps and files etc. Also had cables for a one plus one and got male to female adapters but I am looking for spare  USB-C cables for charging in work and for using in the car would the below do?

     https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-PowerLine-Resistor-Including-ChromeBook-x/dp/B01HF0YGCK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499329028&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=anker+usb+c+cable&psc=1

Going ordering one of these this evening.

Do I need any accessories or does charger come with the phone?

I'm not too fond of cases but will have to get one. Are there any slim ones that are decent?

Sorry if these questions have been asked already. Just lots of pages in the thread to read through.

Charger comes with phone. The OnePlus protective cases are pretty slim and add minimal bulk to the phone. I'm going caseless myself though.

Phone comes with a dash charger and I got more accessories when I purchased it. I got a flip case and Car Dash charger. Also picked up some Anker cables for charging in work so take longer to charge.
Have not tried it yet as waiting for Case as afraid I would drop it

Charger comes with phone as does dash-charge cable. Plastic screen protector comes pre-applied. Have the thin protective karbon case. The bumper style case may add more protection for a tiny bit more bulk but costs a little more too. Others may have more opinions on the cases

I see from a couple of websites that there's an update being rolled out OTA, anyone get it yet? No sign of it on mine yet.

Edit: just read they're soak-testing today, broader rollout in a few days.

Cracked the screen on my OPO today so might get this,

Where do they ship from and how long do they take to arrive after the order is placed?
Both with priority shipping the 6+64GB version says estimated for 12th and 8+128GB for 17th

Mine shipped from Poland, chose priority shipping, and arrived within 48 hours, on the day they had initially estimated for dispatch. I was impressed.

I got the bumper case, it's very nice, lightweight and doesn't add much bulk. However the alley slider is a bit difficult to use with it on, you have you use your nail if you get me.

Any idea what the OTA addresses/improves?

Just ordered mine. Very excited as it's my first android device.

Here's my referral link for anyone else who is buying.

New OTA update was available this morning when I checked for updates. Didn't get a push notification.

After all the talk about working with DxO (and the extra time allowed to improve) it's still worse than last year's flagships.

Still not bad for the price, though.

2 points off the Pixel is a bit better than not bad, IMHO. Bears out my own experience that the shooter is nowhere as bad as some of the more lurid initial coverage has been.

They brought it upon themselves by talking it up as their main selling point, talking about DxOMark, showing teaser images that looked night and day difference with other images.

If they didn't go on about the camera so much, and just released it, people would have been pleasantly surprised.

That persistence of vision thing adds up. Explains why some people see it but not others :pac:

I spent days trying to reproduce it. I have not noticed anything!

Especially because, let's be honest OP's morkeshing efforts have been pretty arseholish down the years, and plenty of reviewers are only delighted to give them a kicking as a result. But the negativity about the camera has been OTT, it's a good camera, just not as good as the very best.

Their reaction to the jelly scroll issue is in the same vein. It doesn't bother me, but it's a real issue for some users, and the above tweets are pretty cringe worthy. They should get on with implementing some sort of software fix, they should be able to at least ameliorate it, if not eliminate it completely.

I really don't see a problem with the camera? I don't use it that often but it does a great job for me. Do people really use phone cameras for everything and expect DSLR type photos?

I bought the phone because of the combination of dash charge and decent battery.

I don't think the jelly scrolling can be fixed by software update? Doesn't it happen on any phone with a normal implemented screen f you turn them upside down? Well if your eyes can notice it

Well, as I understand it, it's down to the order in which the pixels on the screen are populated. I'd imagine that, as levels of code go, it's pretty deep, and maybe not reachable from the OS on the phone. But I'm a philistine on these things, maybe some collaboration with the manufacturers of the panel would bear fruit.

Looks like there might be a fix, by inverting the direction the screen refreshes. They're still testing it here on XDA Developers:

How good is One Plus support when it come to warranty ? Are they easy to deal with ? Typically how long would you be waiting for a repair ?

Also wondering is there any common fit and finish or build quality issues people are seeing. So far the only thing I have come accross is 2 users with loose buttons. Lol.
