    Anyone living in the UK:

    London Presser details:

Doors Open 5pm SSE Arena (Friday July 14th)
    Presser starts 7pm.

Granted it's Conor so more likely starting 720pm.

Will the press tour be worth it? The fight is already getting an insane amount of press and coverage with zero expenditure

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

Would say a visit to a presser would be more value than paying 5k for a ticket to the fight.

I'd say it will be when a chair gets knocked over and security have to sperate them, the dollars will go through the roof.

After 9 months of discussing everything from nitrous oxide benders to luxury car dealerships to propositioning reality tv stars to 4am treehouse videos in Liverpool to the potential name of the baby.....

It'll be good to have something new to discuss related to an actual fight in any sport!

I think they'll be great entertainment.

Pressers will be a good laugh. McGregor will infuriate the boxing fans.

I'd like odds on Conor bringing up Floyds Dyslexia in the first one, hope he doesnt take cheap shots like that personally.

yeah theres plenty legitimate scummy **** to have a go at Mayweather for rather than punching down and having a go at his illiteracy for cheap laughs.

If the chance is there and its low hanging fruit for a retort as such, maybe.

But it's a backhanded compliment almost to mock Floyd for that. He can't read and he's still acheived what hes acheived.

If he targets that, all Floyd has to say is "I can read my contract and it says I'm making a lot more than you"

Hope he doesn't bring up the women beating thing or people sleeping with his exes..... he'd be the one that would end up looking bad.

I think he'll go with "If we step outside right now I'd tear your head off in a *true fight*.

The problem is that line of attack is easily swatted away. All he has to say is "yeah well we're boxing".

Yeah, and have a feeling he'll keep playing the 'old man' card too.

Might as well as I think that is one area where in Floyd's head there might just be a seed of doubt if maybe he has lost something of what he has...... don't think he has personally.... but he's only human and age is the one thing Conor does have on him.

Although I just noticed that it's McGregor's birthday the day of of the London presser, he turns 29 (still, 11 years is more than enough to warrant it being used to wind him up if he can).

Floyd has lost a lot of speed and sharpness since his peak, watch him against Corrales or De La Hoya, he moved with the speed of a cat. His boxing brain has helped him offset his fading sharpness.

Kevin Lee describing Floyd's approach to sparring in this camp (it's kinda hilarious):

"He'll do some outlandish sh*t. He'll set the time, he'll say come here Wednesday afternoon. Then he wouldn't show up and he'd say 'nevermind, let's do it this evening instead'. Then he won't show up and he'll say 'ok we'll do it at 2am'. So you be there all day in the gym waiting, ain't eaten all day, ain't done nothing all day.

Then he'll show up at 2am and say 'ok we'll do 10x 3 minute rounds. As soon as you start getting the better of him, like if you land a good punch, he'll be like "Round over" but if he's whooping your ass he'll say 'ok we're making this round last 8 minutes'. That's the benefit of being the "A-Side I guess he can do whatever he wants."

Lee says he's being paid for 2 more sparring sessions after the World Tour and the money is 'real good'.

But is he trying to punch playing cards out of the air though, thats the important question.

So which channel is the fight on?Sky Sports or BT Sports?
Also, is the press conference this Tuesday being streamed live on youtube? What time is it on at?
    Cheers.

Can't see it happening but a pre-fight face off interview like this one Mayweather did with Cotto would be sweet.

Think Conor would have knocked the phone out of his hand for a start............

Looks like Conors got himself a gift of material for press week.

It'll be Floyd's assets being non-liquid but still pretty easy pickings to show him up.

Speaking exclusively with Irish Daily Mirror, Lobov spoke about the upcoming boxing match. "I don't see Mayweather getting out of the sixth round," he said.

"We're going to see Floyd put in a position that he's never been in before. He's never in his life had this young, Irishman who is in his prime ready to kill him.

"Everybody doubts Conor. When he first came into the UFC nobody gave him a chance against Jose Aldo, and what happened? Jose lasted 13 seconds. It's going to be no surprise to us when he stops Mayweather."

Floyd has never lost in 49 professional bouts, but the SBG fighter doesn't believe in those numbers. "Boxing records are very misleading."

"At least 30 of those 49 fights were against absolute nobodies so I don't even count them."

    He's trolling.

Floyd got swindled out of $30m a few years ago by someone promising he could quadruple the money in one month. The scammer 'proved' his promised return with a smaller quantity first, which sounds like a ridiculously obvious/simple scam.

Bisping reported a few months ago that he heard Floyd had been scammed again.

He's also been trying to sell some Bugatti supercars recently.

Would be astonished if him or Conor ever went broke now.

He's also a degenerate gambler. 50 Cent has said before that he doesn't have as much money as he lets on. His career earnings are insane. But money ain't got no owners, only spenders.

TMT Press Release says all tickets for LA & NY Pressers (30,000 tix) were gone within hours. They've moved the Toronto leg to a bigger venue as a result of demand.

I'd say you'd need to be on the ball to get tickets for London presser.

Have to say, for all the accusations of "money grab", I'm 100% positive they could have charged anything up to $50 for the pressers and still sold out - so fair play that they kept the tickets free. Sensible move from a PR point of view too.
