Game of Thrones was sooooo poor it made me irrationally angry. Art style is effing cr@p too

Telltale games are not really for me,tried one or two and while the narrative was ok i just thought this is some where between a game and TV but suffers because of it. Not enough mechanics to be a good game and not enough of a good story that id watch it as a TV show. So ill probably not play GoT.

Is Until Dawn a narrative based game or is it a horror game?

Ive still to give Killing Floor 2 a proper go so if this months not for me ive got that to go back to.

Haven't played any of the other Telltales but the GoT one is crap enough.

Until Dawn is a nice game, sounds like the PS3 ones are decent too!

Until Dawn is an interactive teen slasher movie. Think Heavy Rain but not ****. I really like it.

It has a tonal shift half way through (no spoilers) and I preferred the first half of the game but for free you can't go wrong.

Until Dawn was class and replays really added to it. Fairly simple platinum too.
The only issues I had was some poxy QTE moments where you had to hold the controller as still as possible. Tense as fcuk but annoying when you get it wrong.

Game of Thrones isn't that bad , its not great but its not as horrible as some are making out , I have it already unfortunatly , Until Dawn is ****ing class though and so is the VR version Rush of Blood I'd love if they made a full sequel

Well, it may or may not get a sequel, but it's getting a prequel anyway!

Whether it can be considered "full" or not remains to be seen... but I'm definitely excited about it! Plenty to look forward to on the VR front from this years E3 anyway.

Until Dawn has some amazing reviews online, really looking forward to it. Is it the same company that did Heavy Rain?

No, thank god. It's actually more enjoyable to play than HR.

Took the words from my mouth.

    UD is excellent. Loved it.

I can see some people not getting on with Until Dawn. Which is fair enough. Some of the characters are (deliberately) cliched and annoying, and the style of game may just not be for some. I jsut like to see someone try something a bit different and pull it off so well though.

I'm mad to play it, heard about the premise but avoided everything else since I knew i'd get it one day (just didn't thing it would be free). I'm gonna try help the killer maul the Heroes Cheerleader first off anyway, well annoying. After that, I don't care as long as Mr. Robot gets out alive.

I seriously began hating every character in that game. Good bath scene though :D

Just finished off Tales from the Borderlands from last month and thoroughly enjoyed it, won't be picking up the Game of Thrones variant as it's not something I am interested in but is Until Dawn in the same vein as these or do you have more control over the character(s)?

Until Dawn is more like a teen slasher movie, you control 8 seperate characters at various times and they can all end up dead before the end depending on the choices you make.

I'm jealous of all of you getting to play it for the first time :D One of the best games they've put on Plus in quite a while.

It's nothing like the Telltale games, IMO.

When you're getting the GoT game for free, why would you not bother picking it up?

Often playing a bad game is a worse experience than not playing it at all.

No interest in Game of Thrones and lack of time to put into it, I might pick it up anyway but I just know I'll never ever play it.

I loved Until Dawn. Reminded me of all those cheesy late 90s films like Scream, Urban Legend, I Know What You Did Last Summer.

I should replay it when I can.

I'm not saying they should force themselves to play it if they don't want to but I buy all games while they're free on PS Plus whether I want to play them or not at the time because I might have a hankering to play them in the future. If I don't ever play them, it doesn't matter because it never cost me anything extra.

If you go to the PS store in a browser you just need to add them to basket and checkout, that way you don't even have to download them until you want to.

Ah yeah I pick up the free games all the time even when I know I probably won't play them. Don't think Until Dawn or GOT is for me but will probably pick them up anyway.

Yeah, that's how I usually do it every month because I purchase them while I'm in work.

I didn't realise that Rami Malek was in Until Dawn until I looked at the trailer yesterday. Is the character animation good in it or do they all look a bit weird?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

I thought the animation and voice work was really good.
