Just been the victim of fraud. Looks like someone in the US has my card info. Locked the card etc, but really disappointed to discover that N26 don't have a 24 hour fraud line :(

Thankfully I noticed the push notification immediately.

Think you were skimmed or compromised online?

Skimmed. Should get my money back; I've to fill out a chargeback form for every transaction though and the bastards managed to make quite a few. Ordered a new card obviously.

It's a shame - I've been a big fan of N26 thus far, but my Irish bank would have spotted and flagged those transactions immediately. Rather disappointing.

As N26 is not available 24/7 outside their opening hours you can call Mastercard Emergency Services on 1-800-55-7378 and they will help you.

It's however surprising that their fraud logarithm did not pick up the unusual spending pattern and put a hold on it.

I would have thought that they pay attention to if your card is being used in the same location as your phone pretty easily

Were you in the states recently using the card or do you think it was skimmed in Ireland?

Had something similar happen a while back with a different card.

So you can use this instead of a credit card to hire a car in Spain? I just want to be 100% certain so I don't be stuck at the airport :)

I was in London two weekends ago. I returned on the Monday. On Wednesday I got a push notification for Pizza chain based in London saying my payment failed because of 'insufficient funds'. The card balance was at virtually zero so no money left to process. Quite annoying though. I haven't cancelled or ordered a new one yet. Is there a charge?

they didn't take mine in Scotland a couple of weeks ago because "debit" is printed on the card.

Is it really a debit card or it can be recognised as a credit card?

had the same issues with a KBC debit card a couple of years ago.
the bank blocked immediately the transaction and the card and no money have been stolen.

the fraud service didn't work well though...

I'm just back from the USA and can confirm the card seems to be coded as a credit card still. Even though it says debit, when paying for stuff I had to select debit or credit on the machines and each time it failed as a debit, but worked when I selected credit. Had a similar issue in an post recently where it was recognised as a credit card.

Its definilty recognised as a debit MasterCard at most places in Ireland including the couple of An Post locations I've used it at (it used to be an issue in the past).

It don't know about the US, but in the case of An Post it's most likely that their terminals didn't support debit MasterCard before and have now been updated to do so (but not all of them it seems).

Is there any news on when Android Pay is coming to N26? What's taking it so long?

If I am not mistaken the only mobile payment announcement they have made is their plan to introduce Apple Pay in Italy in the coming months.

Fairly disappointing for what is meant to be a cool start-up bank which is only mobile based and which is meant to offer newer technology and better reactivity compared traditional banks.

Has anybody had any luck signing up to Energia with N26? I'm hit with the bulls*it 'ROI only' on the DD details

    Oh nice :)

I've over a dozen insurances, hard to keep track of them all. The robo-advisor solution sounds too good to be true.... I can't wait to check it out and see what it can deliver. This could be the tipping point feature they need to truly break into the mass market.

Yes the focus seems to be more on rolling-out new services in Germany that deploying existing ones elsewhere or fixing existing issues :-s
