Dont you listen to JK ? They dont train for a specific opponent . We will see if Floyd will make the walk.

The build up to the fight is going to be great but I'm not looking forward to it really.

Mayweather is going to embarrass McGregor and we will probably never see McGregor fight in mma again because he's made his huge payday.

Mayweather is notorious for trying to get little edges here and there. He loves 8oz gloves, they're lighter which makes him faster with his punches and they also offer less protection for his opponent.

Yeah, I know... but the question was why would he bother trying to get 8oz if it was not a possibility..... are you saying he knew there was no chance and just did it to fuck with Cotto's head?

As my point is that I just don't see how that would fuck with Cotto's head as surely all Cotto would have had to say was: "The rules say you can't have 8oz gloves and so stfu Floyd!"

Mayweathers relative ease in agreeing to this shows what he thinks of the challenge, he cant believe his luck.

People say it because he collected his dole the Monday of the Brimage fight before flying to Sweden and for a few Monday's after (according to a snippet from an interview) but my argument would be I doubt the cheque/transfer from the Brimage fight was instantaneous clearing in his bank account, so he was probably still broke as a joke.

I'm sure if social welfare want to chase him up for 376 quid they can.
5 before the fight is no guarantee of fighting. Fighters miss weigh, pull out, get injured.
He told them about the fight in advance. He mentioned it after he picked up $50k for the KO.
"Just last week I was collecting the social welfare, I was in there saying to them, 'I don't know what's going to happen. I'm signed to the UFC. I don't know. Blah, blah, blah.'
Now I suppose I'm just going to have to tell them to fck off."

Between the boxing purists, with their "making a mockery of the sport" rhetoric, and the "Conor is a living, breathing God!" heads, 8 weeks will be a long time coming. But at least the "most idiotic thing to say" title will be up for grabs.

It's a spectacle. Something to watch. Something to get excited by. There's no title on the line. Relax your pants. Bag of cans, few lads around, and jeer at the TV.

I'm in the same boat - I fully realise it's not a sporting contest in the purest form...However I'm totally up for it and excited...The pre matches conferences will be gold in themselves....Not too bothered about the actual fight...Just going to some craic leading up to it....

Here here. It's a big enough draw to get the recently married with kids mates out for the night and have all the lads together getting a right laugh.

Either, or Facebook, or Twitter, or the whole world really.

When will Mayweather bring up McGregor standing on a rented Bentley (and him owning one?) How will he say it?

Who has money on Conor bringing up Floyds woman beating?

    As for the fight?

****, Conor must think he has a chance at winning. He wants to win. He's been pushing hard for this. Sure, even getting beat 7 ways from Sunday will have him net a lot of dough, winning will bag him bragging rights for life. He'll throw everything he can into winning this.

Is Floyd the GOAT? Dunno, probably. Will he take Conor apart, one punch after another? Most likely. But. Can **** happen? Could Floyd grossly underestimate Conor? What if he landed a bomb at Mcgregors face, and he giggled it off?

Buckle in lads, and just enjoy the ride.

Conor is 100% nailed on.... to get a chunk of a very very large box office taking. I think that qualifies as "winning" in anyones book.

Oh yeah, and there'll be a fight, or something. I dunno.

Some of the posts on here are golden. Bringing in Neil Seery as a sparring partner to prepare for a generational talent boxer like Mayweather is probably my favourite so far.

Kavanagh being an arsehole on twitter is no surprise. He needs to delete his account.

Really hope McGregor brings up the domestic violence stuff while the world is watching. Mocking someone for being illiterate is pretty petty and low bellied.

Agreed . Check out Conors old tweet calling Floyd and Manny a business transaction and not a fight . This is exactly that .

Mayweather in the 9th after McGregor gasses himself out chasing him around for 8 rounds... this is the biggest mismatch since Jordan rode Gareth Gates.

There's no details but apparently he's getting a flat rate with Floyd getting the PPV's. Wouldn't surprise me if the UFC got his stake of the PPVs with Conor getting a flat $75m+

Biggest mismatch yet you think it will go 9 rounds. Humm.

Tommy Toe Hold nailed it, this is one of his better episodes. Conor Jr. has a few good lines in it. :D

That is pretty fcukin funny in fairness.

I thought he said it was 100 or nothing.

I also assume that there is a sponsorship freedom available to McGregor as this is not an UFC promotion?

He has an individual contract with Reebok so no. They will probably compensate him separately for the fight though. They might give him some leeway on the gloves depending on what he likes.

On the gloves thing actually, interesting that it's at 154, if it was any lower they would be wearing 8oz gloves but 154 wear 10oz. Possibly negating some of Conors power, but most likely because 154 is just easier to make.

far as I can remember reebok had floyd on the books for his last so I'd imagine we'll see a lot of reebok branding on the night

Has it been officially stated that it will be a 12 round bout as opposed to any other number of rounds?

Dillon Danis asking to fight Amir Khan on undercard.
