You're telling me mcgregor wouldn't have landed a big shot here? 100% he would. Every fighter makes mistakes, its all about whether or not the opponent can capitilize at the right time.

Get more gifs out lads, it's about time this thread descended into something from Sherdog

Listen we all know all what has to be done here, there's no sense us going down that same old road again. For Conor to beat this guy, he'll need speed, he doesn't have it over mayweather. And his knees can't take the pounding after the ACL injury, so hard running is out. And Artem is his only training partner who can last, so sparring is out.
So, what we'll be calling on is good ol' fashion blunt force trauma. Horsepower. Heavy-duty, cast-iron, piledriving punches that will have to hurt so much they'll rattle his ancestors. Every time he hits him with a shot, it's gotta feel like he tried kissing the express train. Let's start building some hurtin' bombs!

There are some people who even if Mayweather had his hands tied behind his back for the whole fight, would still give McGregor no chance.

That's the nub of it....and a sizeable percentage of them won't give him a chance against Woodley, Khabib or Ferguson.....and mostly likely said he didn't have a chance against Alvarez Aldo and Diaz .....that's just how it is for some

Any individual who thinks McGregor even has a chance against Mayweather needs to go and view McGregor getting bullied by Chris Van Heerden in sparring.

Mayweather won't know what to do once he gets that first punch in the face.

    Some real news:

Nevada State Athletic Commission held a meeting today at 10am (6pm here) and just unanimously approved a request from Mayweather Promotions to promote a boxing event in Vegas, August 26th.

You can see the end of the sparring in the mac life channel video and van heerden looked hurt and was running away?

Exactly my thoughts! McGregor hits at least 5 times harder.

Edit: I better come clean with the wind up before I get accused of trolling

Hate to break it to you pal but the Mac Life is slightly biased.

Search "Chris Van Heerden Full putting hands on Connor McGregor!" on Youtube to see what I mean, although I will admit bullied may have been the wrong word to use in my original post and outclassed would've been more appropriate word to use.

It's biased but you can see the end of the sparring and van heerdens video is biased also. He only posted 1 round (obviously his best) out of a 6 round sparring session. I heard there was 2 times during the sparring that van heerden needed a little break after mcgregor landed a clean shot. No breaks in a real fight.

At the risk of being pilloried, we also have to raise the question of what Conor can actually do to Floyd pre-fight.

I think most fair-minded people will acknowledge he masterfully wound up Diego Brandao, Dustin Poirier and Jose Aldo.

I know it's easy to poo-poo the concept of mental warfare but Conor has a knack for getting under peoples skin and making them fight in ways they don't seem to fight against others.

I doubt it will be original content, I'm sure he'll zone in on Floyd's domestic abuse past etc, but it'll be interesting to see if it has any effect.

TL;DR - We have the armchair psychology to look forward to. Everyone's favourite part of a McGregor fight build-up :pac:

It's actually true though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5c-LPKDi8&t=3m51s one of the times. Chris is like 'my shoelace untied'

Will it work on Mayweather though? Mayweather can dish it out just as bad, if not better.

Haha, stop listening to his pal on the camera saying "nice" when he throws a few punches. He was never hurt, stop daydreaming.

So he stopped to fix his shoe lace after taking a clean punch to the head.

    Clearly hurt here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5c-LPKDi8&t=5m24s

    A clean punch...christ on a bike.

And those 2 clips prove sod all pal, the rest of that video show a different story. And was this not the video were Chris commented on how they edited it to favour McGregor?

Rofl you actually linking to a video of what chris van heerden says to prove that he was never hurt? Just look at the video he's obviously hurt at certain points and took a shoe lace break after being countered clean to the temple. Rest of the video doesn't show a different story, Chris almost got ko'd at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5c-LPKDi8&t=2m58s

Honestly though its impossible to tell who really got the better of the sparring since chris van heerden only released 1/6 rounds, wonder why?? Looking at the end of it it on the maclife video it seems mcgregor came out on top.

    Ah come on.

Conor was literally drowning in lactic acid and could barely lift his arms at that stage.

He says he's been working on his cardio a lot (in between nitrous oxide 4-day-benders) so we'll see.

I expect he'll have the cardio dump from the middle of the 3rd to the end of the 5th (assuming he survives that long).

i knew id get a bite of someone! :P

    lactic acid hai!

I dont follow many mma journalists mainly because 90% of them are little virgin fanboys with agendas, but having a quick look does anyone notice the lack of balls they are showing reporting this? not one of them will nail their colours to the mass and say YES ITS ON or no its fake news,

Sure its complex negotiations but they are banging out nothing but generic rubbish like reporting on the NSAC approving the Mayweather promotions show on Aug 26th.

You're hilarious at this. Almost KO'd with pillow-gloves on and a shot to the temple while he is wearing headgear...

Nice consistency with the bolded part there as well.

Here is an unedited round for you to view to get a better idea, this came out after the McLife video, thats why it was released. McGregors footwork is poor for boxing, he consistently crosses his stance. It works well for him for MMA, but walk like that in front of Mayweather and you will never be in a position to even throw a punch, never mind hitting Mayweather.

Where the hell is his jab as well, its more of a poke with a soft arm. He takes far too many punches with his arms down, and that is cannon fodder to a counter puncher.

I think shoelaces will win via majority decision KO in the 17th round.

    You mean this jab? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5c-LPKDi8&t=4m50s

It's impossible to tell because there's no full video but from whats available it does seem mcgregor got the best of it. Especially since at the end of round 5, Chris asked for another round, usually that means he felt behind at that point and wanted to get one back.
