Folks, I have a query for ye who are following the music scene more closely than I am.

I love this song, it jumped out at me first time I heard it. Its basically one of those instant classics, to my mind.

Would be one of my top 5 new songs that I've heard in the past decade.

Heard a busker do it last week and it got me thinking about it again.

And yet when I looked for it on youtube - its nowhere near being the bands most popular song. Not in the top 10 in terms of hits.

    What am I missing here......

Bombay Bicycle Club - Rinse Me Down

It's a really nice track with a nice feel to it - but nothing that special to my ear.

That's just the subjective nature of music I guess....some tracks tend to hit you hard, whether they evoke some sense of nostalgia or an emotional reaction or whatever, rather than appealing on a wider level.

    Re-discovered if that's ok :)
Listening to a lot of albums i haven't listened to in years at the moment, and rediscovering lots of old stuff!

So, i haven't seen them mentioned much here, but maybe the are too much part of the required listening or something at this stage. Nirvana, lesser known track, hope you enjoy :)

Sorry, just don't get this lot at all. Every song seems about 8 minutes long. That song sounded like Foreigner and what is it with that ****ing video?

So, it'll be just me and you'll take lots of in and out of focus shots as I walk in front of this building here.

Sorry, just ****ing awful awful stuff.

Ok, it is not your cup of tea. It is only the official audio video that is released yet. Maybe the fact that all his songs are longer than usual is what appeals to me.
you are obviously in the "Mark Kozelek group" ;)

Yeah, they just don't do it for me. Kozelek bores me now too. Truth is that I haven't enjoyed a record of his - apart from a couple of Sun Kil Moon moments - since Red House Painters.
Lots of people seem to get the War on Drugs thing but it just washes over me completely and I have tried.

That's a fantastic tune...pity they've not included any Irish dates in their Autumn tour.

Listened to this, this morning on the way to work. Absolutely beautiful. Completely fell in love with Lost in a Dream. And still listen to it over and over again. It’s one of those very few albums that I think I’ll never get sick off. Haven’t even delved into any of their backlogue yet. Can’t wait for the new album. If it’s anything like Lost.. it will be fantastic.

I was also at the Vicar St gig. I liked it but wasn’t blown away. I think it dragged on a bit too long. But I didn’t know the older stuff which was predominantly played at the end, so I guess the issue was with me.

Didn’t know they had a tour list out. That’s horrible news that no Ireland. When I was listening to new tune, I was looking forward to checking them out live again, but this time with more familiarity with old stuff.

No. Or if it is its completely unrecognizable.

A Blaze Of Feather are Ben Howards band I believe.

Check out Slave Ambient - cracker of an album.

Managed to get tickets for one of their Glasgow gigs in November - 30 for ticket, 34 for flight and 50 for hotel!
