How much do you pay a childminder

    Hi im wondering how much do you pay someone to babysit two small children in your home per hour? Im unsure what's an acceptable wage to pay? Thanks

    If it's in your home, you'll also be liable for employers PRSI, PAYE etc. so it's usually far more affordable to have someone mind the kids in their home.

    Rates vary wildly depending on location - in North Dublin, you'd be looking at a minimum of €60 per day to have two kids minded in the minders home.

    Thanks Sleepy, im not in Dublin, in Roscommon if that makes a difference. It doesnt have to be in my own home although that would be ideal. thanks for your reply.

    It depends,in your home it works out 12-15 euro an hour on average.
    childminding.ie might be able to help you out.
    Childminding in the minders own home varies from 30 euro a day for one child to 60,some give a 50% discount for a second child and some give a lot less.
    If it is for an occasional babysitter then you do not need do register them for tax and they can cost anything from 5-10 euro an hour.
