Call me naive but I only recently discovered most American men are circumcised. Why would you do this? I don't care if you're a Jew or Muslim, you're chopping off the most sensitive part of you son's penis. And for what? So he looks like you?

A bit of that, but mainly to stop masturbation.

In Ireland they went a different route and attempted to stop masturbation by saying it was a sin, and that if you weren't absolved of it you'd go to purgatory.

Backwards people getting worked up about sexual matters. What's new amiright?

I don't know why I'm circumcised but I am, I think sometimes it's a necessity for kids to have this done? I never asked my parents. Anyway, I wouldn't change it for the world, some of this mutilation mullarkey going on in this thread is ridiculous. I was only listening to Newstalk yesterday and they were saying the HIV virus lives in foreskins so in some countries they are removed to help prevent the spread of the disease.

Medically unnecessary removal of parts of a baby's anatomy is mutilation every day of the week.

Well, coming from someone who's circumcised, I'm glad it was done to me, and I don't really care if people are outraged and getting worked up on the internet about my penis, it's hilarious actually. As my penis always said, better to be talked about than not talked about at all.

It's really not. It's just a bit of skin, we're not talking actual knob here.

It's to stop them spanking the monkey.

Yeah but a person who was born blind, or blinded when he was a few days old, doesn't know what it is like to see.

Your penis doesn't know what its like to feel full sexual pleasure.

(I'm going to go and have a shower in bleach now after writing that last sentence.)

Well whatever pleasure I experience is good enough for me. My parents had my dick chopped in half and that's fine, I'd trust their judgement way more than mine tbh.

    Which half?

I don't know, I can PM you a pic and you can tell me what's up, assess it for me?

And I'm super glad that you're happy with your chop job but I think this is something people should choose for themselves. We're all about choice these days, no?

Sure, but I'd have faith that my parents made the best decisions for me as a child.

I'm kinda glad I got mine tidied up.
He's way more handsome than an uncircumcised one, resembles a dogs nob

He's pure handsome, standing to attention in his little helmet, although considering some of the places I've sent him into do his duty, he could have used a flak jacket

I couldn't imagine my todger without its little hoodie. It looks so snug in there.

It's not "just a bit of skin". That's a bit of a silly comparison. Earlobes, eyelids and the like are also "bits of skin". Not. The foreskin has far more nerve endings than average skin elsewhere on the body(and nor far off the "knob") and specialised cells not found anywhere else in the body. That's before we get to the erogenous and functional aspects of the structure, or the loss of the frenulum that usually comes with the snip(an extremely sensitive, if not the most sensitive part of the penis).
Sure, but I'd have faith that my parents made the best decisions for me as a child.
Looking at those I know for a long time who are parents I dunno about that. They were clued in or not before they had children, the addition of kids didn't magically make them more or less clued in. They make the best decisions they can for their kids, but it doesn't mean they're the right decisions.

I sooner my eyelids than my foreskin

Trust me they're way more sensible than I am.
Anyway I'm happy with my dick, but I'd imagine it was snipped because of a medical procedure, I know my cousin had to have it done when we were about 8 years old for medical reasons.

So people have a problem with parents being able to choose whether to have this done or not I guess? I probably wouldn't get a kid snipped unless it was required, but I'm glad mine had to be done as to me it looks way nicer than non-snipped ones.

Jaysus, I dunno how hairy you are. Snipped ones can look like Frankensteins cock to me, all dried out scar tissue and the like. Bolts optional. As for being "tidied up", women's bits and bobs are not exactly a Monet painting as far as beauty goes, some are decidedly "untidy", but no way would I get behind medical intervention to fix what isn't broken.

Thread was mildly amusing until this point, op is either ignorant as to the implications of FGM or just being an idiot.

So it's ok to remove the frenulum, the most sensitive part of the penis for 'cosmetic' reasons?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,759 ✭✭✭jobbridge4life

    It's not necessary for anything.

    ...
Tell that to the men who had their penises destroyed because their parents requested this stone age ritual.

Both of these are utter nonsense.

I was circumcised as a baby because I needed to be. I had too much foreskin.

My friend was circumcised during secondary school because his foreskin was too tight, it was very painful when he had erections.

While I can't speak for my friend, I can assure you my penis hasn't been destroyed.

You can give at a go if you doubt me.

Seriously though are there any dicks you like the look of apart from your own? I can't say I'm fond of any others...

I had it done for medical reasons when I was 11. It didn't affect my life in any adverse way at all, either physically or psychologically.

    No big deal.

Any man claiming a set of lady bumps are not a thing of beauty should be whipped.

Many are, some are not. If we're talking about breasts anyway. If we're talking about vulvas, as I say, not exactly up there aesthetically.

You honestly think no man has penis destroyed through botched circumcision?

If you claim mgm is ok then you really can't speak out against fgm.
