They are not made anymore ,that bit is true. However, most parts are replaceable without the need to buy a complete new system.

Hey Koolkid I was hoping you could PM me the installers/engineer manual for an aztec 63.
    Thank you

    Hi,
Just asking another question on this thread if thats OK. My outside bell on my Astec 63DV is acting up and based on the suggestions on this thread I've taken down the bell and brought it into the house. I'm looking to wire it directly to the SABB. After taking off the fromt cover, I see all the terminals along the top. The perimeter zones are labelled and then to the top right there's 2 pairs labelled "sounder", so I assume my bell is wired to here. The thing that has me confused is that when I took down the bell on the front of my house I noticed that the 2 wires going into the connection were black & red. However the pairs wired into the terminals are white\green and white\yellow. I was really expecting to see red\black corresponding to the wires on the front of the house. Am I missing something here?

    thanks

Usually they would be the same at either end.

Ive come across jobs with green/white into a junction then out on the red/black as well tho.
The only option is to bell out the cables to see what ones are working. Have you noticed any junction boxes?
In your case it may be in the attic.

The pair feeding the external bell may be joined through a junction or sensor /contact where the colours may have been switched.
The second pair wired into sounders is probably the internal siren.

Just on the off chance there are still any Astec experts still around… My 49D has given up, I decided to try replace it with Konnected. For contact and shock sensors I removed the internal resistors and have those all working. However, the PIRs are 2 wire only, I assume they were powered with signals modulated to the 49D control panel. Is there anyway to convert those to 4 wire? Also the internal sounder, doesn't trigger on the sounder output from Konnected. Is there something else going on? Same story for the external sounder. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They wont work but as you have a cable going to them you could add a standard PIR and internal/external bell to the konnected system to have the same function

Thanks, problem is the same cable is used for other sensors so there's no spare wires. I might have to use separate power source.

The 2 wire was great for different sensors but upgrading can be a nightmare like in your case.

If you can run another cable to add devices it makes life easier

I've 6 pirs in total, I can replace maybe 3 or 4 with existing wires, though some of them will be the same zone, but that's ok as long as the alarm is triggered. I've set up Konnected in home assistant so I can add additional sensors to compliment what's hardwired. Happy enough with it, especially as I can remotely monitor it with ha app.

    Not ideal but will work.

Do you have shock sensors on the windows?

Have you tested the shock part?

I dont know if inertias work with this system, thought it may just be contacts?

I tried tapping them, but nothing registered. Not sure how much force is needed to for them to activate. I'm going to change them to contact and add some wireless vibration sensors. Got the PIRs sorted, so happy with that. External sounder is next. Do you know if there's any way to reuse the Astec one or if you can recommend an alternative one?

The zones on the board are not analized for shocks so the contacts only work.

The bells are 2 wire so dont work like global sabbs. If cable is fine then you could use for a global one
