Can I put laminate over tiles?

The house we are buying has tiles around 15 years old, a dated browny yellowy colour, I would have liked to tile again with cream tiles but lifting the tiles is not an option, too many, and having asthma and a child with a serious health problem dust would cause serious problems, we will be moving in straight away as renting at present and the lease runs out around the time the house sale completes, so the next best thing is laminate, I googled painting the tiles but it isn't recommended, hoping we can use laminate over these tiles,,,,,,,
