I'm always fascinated by people who have peculiar, but somewhat uncool hobbies.
To look at me, you would think I'm a bit of a geezer. Maybe even a bit flash. But I have a deep secret, one I don't even tell my friends about.

So here it is: I love visiting antiques shops and flea markets. To the point where I've passed up free festival tickets, football matches and nights out with the lads because I want to spend the day rummaging in the shops in search of buried treasure.
I've also been known to build some spectacular airfix models, but chicks generally don't dig that. But you could hardly expect your average lass to appreciate the craftsmanship of a Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress ball turret I suppose.

What's your secret hobby or insanely OCD collection habit? This is a non-judgmental thread, people. Let it out.

I used to work with a guy that used to make miniature pieces of furniture out of clothes pegs. He seemed fairly normal otherwise.

I write poetry.

Write poetry, write music in my spare time.

Nothing weird or unusual there I guess.

I was at a Model Military convention in Belfast recently- just happened to be on while I was exploring- some incredible details and work in some of the exhibits.

I love baking....love seeing people eat what I bake....it's funny cos I'm a cranky looking bollix and people are so surprised when I tell them lol lol

I like doing origami.

Its relaxing and if you use really nice washi paper its a cheap way to make something beautiful and ephemeral.

I observe the various states of disrepair of Dublin Buses. Used to look at trucks and lorries, but legislation has been tightened up enough to make them all look and sound ok.

I write fiction, some of it is erotic fiction. Very few people know about it. I've been publised, but only novellas, and under a nom de plume. Sadly I'm not a millionaire bestseller but it's early days and I've not finished the book yet

I make my own clothing and make and sell to order. Some of the orders are for fetishwear.

I also love trees and flowers and growing things. I'm out rooting in the garden whenever I get the chance.

And I love old tat, not highbrow antiques so much as useful or unusual things.

I don't see anything wrong with airfix or even stamp collecting or anything like that. We're all multi-faceted and can be a bit nerdy about a few things, without being boring.

I collect model airplanes, am an aviation enthusiast and love a good game of Flight Sim.

I don't look like the geek I profess to be and I like that very few people know about this side of me.

I like to make geometric origami, platonic solids and the likes. Havn't done a huge amount of it, would like to spend bit more time at it. Pictures not my own but that sort of thing.

But on a serious side, I'm doing cross stitching, the ultimate granny sport and I'm not even 30. I'm pretty good at it but only my lad knows about it.

I collect a particular type of plant, I have 100s of them in my greenhouse. I have more photos of them on my phone than I do my children. I get seriously excited when I find a plant I haven't got already and have a wish list that I am continually updating. I tend to play down my hobby to people I know because I am aware that it is weird to be a plant hoarder.
