What is this? Just a random Saturday morning rant about everything, including the organisation that he works for?

I just tuned in. I thought it was a severely mentally ill man talking about his delusions.

I'm not sure why Marion is still giving out about Self Service, you would have thought that she was used to it at this stage.

It's high time Marian with her droll delivery of lyrics, recorded an album of cover versions William Shatner-style. :D

Enjoyed the listening to Mark Hedderman but I wish Marian had asked him why he thinks the Catholic Church, in common with most other religions, has such visceral hatred of the feminine?

OMG that "interview" with Ruby Wax made for excruciating listening - cringemaking!

In fairness, in an era when george hook and all the other snowflake catholics get into hysterics everytime.any fair criticism comes their.way, this gentlemen was refreshing. As someone who dedicated his life.to the catholic faith and held a range of positions, he obviuoulsy has had first had experience of how medieval catholic ireland truly is, and therefore.the need to evolve or become extinct. The problem is people.find it.comforting to dismiss any calls for change as self indulgant mental ramblings. Maybe another famine would give the church the boost it needs

I always find it odd that those who profess to believe in an omnipotent God still seem to feel he/s needs the help of coerced enforcement ... surely that displays an extraordinary lack of faith?
Mark Hedderman seems to be one of the very few faithful who has true faith in the God he professes & seems quite confident that the God he believes in can get along quite nicely without any necessity for enforced belief or conformity. His God can cope easily with human doubt and questioning .... refreshing IMHO

It's easy to say that the IDA and similar bodies do "great work" in bringing foreign direct investment. But I have two problems with them:

    1. They never give indigenous private IRISH business the same sweetheart deals and support that they give to foreign companies.
    2. There is always a fanfare when they introduce some new company to an Irish town/city, and loads of slapping each other on the back. But when they pull out these same people are nowhere to be seen.

The purpose of the IDA is to get foreign investment, not to help domestic companies. They can get help for the likes of the County Enterprise Boards.

So if somebody is forced to wear black from head to toe is Saudi Arabia, it's oppression. But if they are forced to wear the Hijab while living in Ireland, it's part of their culture which we need to respect. I never quite understood that. Surely if she's consistent, Marian should be questioning similar Muslim 'traditions' imposed on mulims that live in Ireland?

It's too much to expect consistency from Marion , her principles extend as far as her agenda only .

First, the hijab is a headscarf and is not the same as the burka or niqab. Second, every woman in Saudi has to wear it. In Ireland, women can wear what they want.

... well except for the coercion of family, religion, tradition, fashion & of course peer pressure! And the hajab is a BIG headscarf ;)

But it's not that long ago since a woman HAD to wear a headscarf or hat in an RC church .. remember the brouhaha when Mary Robinson met the Pope without a head covering! The poor man nearly needed the smelling salts.

You have to feel sorry for men though, poor things, they are such slaves to their hormones and so in thrall to women

Re Pro-Export woman, reckons the northern borders no problem..., So how's she going to get the horsemeat to France?

It's pretty obvious from this week's photo of Trump & the Russians in the Oval Office that he is definitely going for the 2 scoops of ice cream. Even the extended tie can't hide that ;)

Ireland spent about 300k on sending Nicky Byrne.. So, less than what they pay Marion for four hours a week of coughing.

"You know you become a part of the tribe".

Gotta love the BS round the world travellers spout.
Yeah, your trip to SE Asia is soooo unique that 1 out of every 2 Irish people under the age of 40 has done the exact same one.

It really is odd that they give away Justin Beiber tickets on Marion Finucane's show.. This is such a mismatch. Will a single ONE of Beiber's fans be listening to the radio right now? Why not give the tickets to Tubridy or D'Arcy?

One of Marion's dinner party guests offered them in a gesture of drunken goodwill. :D

It's a bit like Matt Copper now having listeners on air doing quizzes, radio is dumbing down across the board

Geraldine kennedy has sounded doddery for years , She's traded off this telephone tapping scandal from 1982 for ever , every dinner party circuit in south Dublin has heard the 'first hand account ' at least twice by now i'd say.

What is going on with all the breathing noises. It's like the sitting room of an old folks home. Is somebody in there on a respirator?

The people here are speaking as if bringing in Noreen O'Sullivan was like bringing in a new brush. She was promoted because she shared similar views to Martin Callinan. She sat beside him and was passing notes to him while he was calling the whistleblowers "disgusting". She got to that position by playing by the old rules and it was mindnumbingly stupid to think that she was the person to lead the reform.

Marion wont say a word against her, afraid to offend the sisterhood.
