Low Wireless signal strength. Which TP-Link Router query

I have a Netgear Wireless router in ground floor and the WiFi signal strength in up stair bedroom is very low. There is an Ethernet port in the bedroom which is patched and active. I am looking for a small TP-Link router that could be connected to this Ethernet port and plugged in to the power socket near the port.

Could anyone suggest which model and where to buy it locally or online?

you can pick up an obsolete router for next to nothing* and use it to extend your wifi range

*you can get them 2nd hand for a fiver but just as easily get them for free. I've found old working routers in WEEE bins and got a couple from family/friends who were tossing them out - ask around and don't forget to grab the power supply

I need a router with small form factor. It needs to be plugged in to the house powersocket and also to the ethernet cable from the router. Any make or model that suits me?

most old routers I've come across are pretty small. If that's not small enough, you're perhaps best with a wi-fi range extender (you don't need a router, you already have one of those). I've no experience with them so I can't make a recommendation other than read a few reviews and go with a decent brand like Netgear

A Wireless Access Point would be nice to have in your situation. Or if you have that old Modems with Router/Wireless feature issued by previous ISPs/provider, you could use that one as access point. Simply configure it as client or wireless access point from the admin dashboard. Most CPEs comes in small factor.

TP-Link is cheaper. That would serve my purpose.
