May I just point out that there are certain things that go across a line and that margin has well been past with what has been responded.

If you have an issue or think a line is crossed, please use this feature report.gif.

Please do not raise issues on thread again, thank you.

I think that's lousy, she died very young after a hard dose of fighting cancer and left a family of young kids behind.

Her kids were left secure with a multi-million pound trust & her legacy includes a massive jump in the amount of women getting tested for cervical cancer, both a tick in the 'win' column for her. I think having a little giggle at an unfortunately placed headline at her expense is ok.

That's all grand but what young woman at 27 deserves to die? None in my opinion and what good is money without your own mother alive? Money will never compensate for a life. I know it's just a joke, I'm just saying like she didn't deserve it, she always came across very innocent.

What woman at any age deserves to die?

There are plenty of sad stories in this world & we all die one way or another. At least she lived & died in a manner that provided for her family indefinitely & possibly saved the lives of countless other young women.

Oh, and an unfortunately placed story on the front page of a magazine the day she died made me smile.

Alright, won't argue about it. Just thought it was sad is all. I think the media always abused her naivety.

But they also paid up, hence the legacy.

    From http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=72926507&postcount=1141
Paddy and Mick want to immigrate to Australia, so they head to the nearest Immigration Office.

Mick goes in first, and after 5 mins he comes out and gives his brother the thumbs up and says "I'm in!"

Paddy goes next and the Immigration Officer says,
"What kind of work do you do?"
Paddy replies "I'm a turf cutter"

The officer runs his finger down his list of jobs and says
"Sorry, we don't need turf cutters in Australia, I cant let you in!"
Paddy goes "But you don't understand, I'm the best, the straightest, the neatest turf cutter in all of Ireland. If theres turf to be cut, I'm your man!"
Officer: "No, you dont understand, we have no turf in Australia, I'm sorry there is no place for you."

Paddy: "But you let my brother in not 5 mins ago!!"

Officer: "Yes, but he's a Pilot"

Paddy: "I know, but if I don't cut it, he can't pile it!

We get it Bootup, you have a certain view on events. Do all your posts need to be political though???

I'm a bit late to the party - what did Bootup post? Obviously it got modded before I saw it but now my curiosity is getting better than me. The urge to know, and then to be disappointed. Answers by PM only.

It showed a female soldier saying she was a Christian fighting Isis in Syria over a picture of a man rioting saying he had fled Syria. Psst, he was of the slightly darker skin variety so I think he might be one of those Islams. It was hiwawious!

Since Nerdkiller1991 is looking for an explanation of this post:
A few weeks ago there was a group of Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike in Israel and some ****ty people held a bbq outside to taunt them. Obviously not cool and people were angry.

BUT, this one is funny because a group of students in Yale are hunger striking in protest over benefits but the terms seem to be that they strike until they are hungry, and then someone else takes their place. Like a relay race, I suppose. There's been a lot of people taking the piss out of them over it online. So this is like a funny mirror of what was a bad event. IMO.

Considering the sources on the Yale thing, though, I'm not sure how much, if any, is legitimately happening.

Need to ban the "not funny" and "funny how" crap that has been appearing lately. They are all reposts after all...
It's the only repost that seems to be openly allowed.

Besides, if you were to start posting those types of responses to non-funny posts on YLYL, you'd need to post it in response to every second image these days...

Funny how is a valid response to a post on YLYL. No need to ban it.

It's not really though, the funniest of posts is going to be unfunny to some people and it's not a discussion thread so people can't reply to the "funny how" question posed.

Anyone know what the post in question was without posting it obviously. Seems to have been posted and snipped again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,375 ✭✭✭✭kunst nugget

I was the one that put up the not funny post in relation to the Bootup post and I'm not going to apologise. It was an unfunny trolling post that had no place on YLYL.

There is a whole thread just for this reason, you obviously know this, you just posted in it :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

'Funny how' posts are just direct questions, ergo, not funny, and should be deleted every time some Snowflake posts them.

that's brilliant , can just picture the grin on the fireman looking at the kid
