    Honey bee?

No infra red, indeed no reds at all, for bees.

Isn't the honeybee, coming in to land on a flower, guided by a "runway" which it sees in infra red?

    Ultra violet.

Closer. It lives in water but is not a crustacean.

I wouldn't mind but I've seen a picture of that creature in the last few weeks, it was posted either in the 'I bet you didn't know that' forum or in one of CVPL, and now I can't find it.

There! This is what I was thinking about (even though it's the wrong answer)!

    Edit - Now I'm lost.

I remember seeing that. The poster was wrong to say we were the only animals with full colour vision, as humans only see one segment of the spectrum anyway.

I don't think anybody's going to get this. You know it or you don't kind of question.

It's the humble and often overlooked GOLDFISH. As Ripley said "Believe it or not".

    Wow! Colour me impressed!

    See what I did, there?

I had checked out that answer and I am intrigued. What is the difference between the goldfish and any other sort of carp (it is a carp, I think?) and, say, cod or trout or any other sort of fish, that it needs or would develop specialised vision?

Sorry Looksee, are you asking because you'd like to know, too, or is that your question?

They are a Carp but the only Carp with infra red vision. It is thought to help see in less clear water. Piranha have infra red vision too but not ultra violet. It's just an evolutionary adoption unique to them.

They each consist of letters which are used as Roman numerals.

Yes, that's it. All formed from Roman numerals.

what is the longest word in English without any vowels in it? There are some modern words but I would like the traditional and easy answer as the quiz is meant to be EASY

I assume it's the conventional a,e,i,o,u not counting y as a vowel. I think I have it but will wait on others.

Or that he's a pensioner? (Elderly :D :pac:)

I don't have a clue, but I'll guess that he was the one who decided to put the 'pock marks' on the golf balls.
