Liquid Floor Screed and Radiator Piping

Hi, I've a couple questions in relation to liquid screed floors.

I'm doing up a house and have the existing wooden floors out, I'm going to fill the concrete subfloor and then put in 150mm insulation and finally liquid screed. I'll be insulating the external walls at subfloor level and putting in DPC.

My question really is in relation to the plumbing - we are going to go with radiators in the house and not underfloor heating, is the norm to run the radiator pipes on top of the insulation - I've a plumber telling me to put them under the insulation - which sounds like it might be a big PITA if there is ever a leak that I have to get at.

Also, I want to have the pipes coming out of the wall for the rads, and not straight up from the floor - I think this makes it look a lot tidier, as in this picture:

How exactly is this achieved in my situation? Also my plan is to use plastic piping and not copper - any issue there with the bends in the pipe at the radiators?

I done this, just finished

So I had issue with dry rot. When I found the problem area the dry rot was in the concrete. So I dug out floors, then the subfloor and then down. Put down 100mm insulation

I then got plumber in, he ran the new insulated piping. So there is no connection from the start point to the radiator so no chance of a leak under the floor.

Also you cannot use Liquid screed. You can only use that for underfloor heating.

They came with truck with connector on back, standard concrete came, was filled into the back of truck which was then wet and pumped into the house. Same idea as liquid screed, they arrived at 11 and done by 3, about 110sq mt done

I had to run 500 guage polythene over everything before I put in concrete.....

Apologies for dragging up an old thread but can I ask what depth of screed you used in the above example

Hi Chillit, if I remember correctly anything over 35mm should be fine.

For drying out you need to give 1 day per mm and once it goes over 40mm it is about 1.5 days. Again -that's if I remember correctly!!
