Looked back at when I purchased my entries for 2016 and 2015, both were in May, so you've a few months yet.

Motivation I lack, motivation I got.

    See you all there.

Did the 200km last year and really enjoyed it. My advice is to do it on a cyclo-cross bike (if you have one). Roads get pretty bad at particular points and your wheels will take a hammering.

I can only recall one rough section last year (in north Wexford) and the reason was explained by the organisers. Suggesting a CX bike for a few kms of a 200k route is a bit OTT IMO.

+1. The overall suffering completely distracts you from the rough road surfaces encountered

    Signed up.

I expect to spend quiet a lot of time cursing all the hills along the route with promises to myself to throw the bike in the bin when I get home!!

Hills? What are these hills you speak of?

Yeah the Mick Byrne seems to have that effect on people who do it. A mild case of Alzheimer's that clouds the memory of any struggling that may have occurred during the 200km. This is the only reason I can come up with for entering year after year.

I'll be there too, acting as an anchor on doozerie's antics.

It's a nice tough route with a real sense of achievement at the end.

Signed up there. I've got a feeling I will regret it before it's over

You will regret it before its over, but never after. Guaranteed :)

Signed up - it was epic last year.

Thinking of the 3 Peaks next weekend and the Orwell Randonée at the end of April as useful stepping stones. If they don't work out too well, there's always the fallback on the day of the 160.

Signed up with a few others yesterday, determined to get revenge after it broke me before reaching Slieve Mann the first time. Think i messed up pace so will take it easier this time. Certainly is popular, two days and 110 spots gone from their 300 already!
