    Hey Everyone,

Wondering does anyone know which is the cheapest payments provider for websites e.g. realex, stripe? etc.

    Thanks in advance

In terms of cost Stripe is very reasonable:

1.4% + 25c + VAT per transaction for European cards, direct debit and SEPA.
    2.9% + 25c + VAT per transaction for non-European cards

There are alternatives like Braintree and PayPal (Braintree is owned by PayPal). Personally I have found Stripe excellent, and tend to be a little ahead of the rest when it comes to introducing new features. Their documentation is outstanding. If you're processing payments for other businesses they make it a cinch to allow them to "connect" their Stripe account to your app, and you can then process payments on their behalf, simplifying taking a cut, fraud prevention and all that.

Realex could work out cheaper. They charge a flat fee of €29 per month which includes 350 transactions, and it's 12c per additional transaction. The catch is you need a merchant bank account to use it for accepting card payments, which is a bit of a painful process to go through. Note that with this option the bank will charge transaction fees too, so you'll want to check those with your bank for comparison.
