Christians aren't expansionist? Have you heard of missionaries?

And you think Judaism is fine? So you're ok with the way that women are treated in Orthodox Judaism?

I didn't being Hamas up but are you actually saying that the difference between ISIS and Hamas/Israel is that the UN is involved with one? Yeah... That's the difference.

I'll amend that to militantly expansionist. I've never been a fan of sneaking religious literature into shoeboxes of gifts for impoverished children but it is a bit less of a threat than what this thread is about.

I said Judaism hasn't been an issue in the way Islam has, and what I meant was, Islamism. Why turn it into a competition for the most troublesome religion? Since you ask, there are aspects of orthodox judaism that I disapprove of.

R.E Hamas-Israel, and Isil: I'm saying Isil aren't answerable to anyone in any way. And they're not in any kind of conflict with us, it is entirely one sided-they are the aggressors. Unless you subscribe to the view that they are a reaction to western military campaigns and 'we' are culpable for that. Which would mean ignoring most of what isil themselves have said, and ignoring the many other targets with no connection to military campaigns.
Nor will Isil jail their any of their own, for committing torture or kidnapping. And finally, Israel's government itself, no matter how bad you believe it to be, is not an issue in the West, which is the focus of this discussion.

Having got sidetracked with comparing religions I think you've veered from your point about historical rejection of immigrants from religions other than that of the host country. I was trying to say that while there has been antipathy toward others such as the Jews, there is more to this than that, and there are actual genuine issues to be examined.

Im not making excuses for him. He shouldn't even enter into the argument as he is so ridiculous and his mindset is not common even among right wing people. Im trying to get away from this because it deflects from the issue at hand, about the issue of islamic terrorism within the islamic community. You say not all muslims are terrorists when we discuss this. I say nobody ever said that, because no reasonable person has said that in this thread. Then you post that^..And around in circles we go

and thats how the entire discussion gets ridiculous and deviates from what we actually want to discuss reasonably.

    Exactly, it's really unnecessary.

As far as US politics go, people like Schumer, Pelosi, Waters, and pretty much the crust of the entire Democratic party or as I like to view them the identity politics party.

Media wise sites like the BBC, Vox, MSNBC, The Huffington Post, CNN, Buzzfeed among others.

Talking about people here in this thread, those who are clinging to the belief that there hasn't been something brewing in Europe in recent years with regards immigration and terrorism, with Islam being the common factor - and refusing to recognize that ignoring this problem it will continually get worse.

According to polls, the majority of people in Europe want this immigration stopped from terror prone regions, not just for terrorism reasons, but because of the social impact, the silent majority will always be there.

You have a very warped and niave view of the world Hank.

Also I just read you whinging about being about being called a racist. Your a birth conspirator.

There;'s at least 3 people active right now on the thread who have called me names in the past or said outright that I like seeing the death of others.

You and I are actually pretty close in opinion. It's just our views on islam. Even then I think we have more in common that differences.

I think the two core differences are

    1) what percentage of Muslims are terrorist?
    2) is it possible for a moderate Muslim to integrate/live in a western country.
    Is that about it?

Your first point I don't really want to argue, it's not my view the vast majority of Muslims are terrorists. There's a problem with their Religion which has a pathway to extremism.

Second point, I don't think the problem is going to get better until the immigration problem is sorted out, and by sorted out I mean stopped. My opinion is that cultural differences are so distinct that integration will never work.

Another that I hate is the excuse of Mental Health problems.

Give me a break. It was excuse here for travellers to terrorise neighbourhoods although it's amazing they never went near homes they knew would fight back.

Same with these terriosts, amazing they all turn out to kill, ya never see them having health problems by turning into Good Samaritans instead

The fact is that the vast majority of people who are right wing aren't far right wing. The same goes for Islam. And if you want to say there's something wrong with Islam than you have to accept that there's something inherently violent about conservatives.

being right wing is a political view, islam is a religeon, this comparison is completely ridiculous. The arguement most are making here is there are fundamental errors in the quran and islamic ideology. not that all muslims are evil, not that all muslims are terrorists, not that all muslims should be banned. Our argument is that the bloody book has some massive flaws and burying your head in the sand, insisting theres nothing wrong and calling anyone who disagrees a racist isn't doing anything to help the fact that we have a pretty huge problem with islamic extremist terrorism!

You have Left Wing nutjobs that posted on The Guardian website that Ed Miliband was a Far-Right politician.

The man known as "Red" Ed for Christs sake!!!!

I just want to highlight the leftist response from Irish politicians to show how disinterested they are in Islamic Attacks.

Between the People Before Profit and AAA their 6 TDs and group Twitter pages have tweeted/retweeted 24 times since yesterdays event.

Out of those 24 tweets a grand total of 1 was about the London attack. That tweet was a retweet from Paul Murphy

I just don't understand this type of attitude at all.
Someone commits random acts of violence and murder and your answer is to commit violence / maybe murder?

one thing that gets me in these situations is the amount of desperate scrambling to find what caused the attack, from racism to trump to brexit to the right wing to, most heinously of all, mental illness. Its always someones fault but the second you say there might be a problem with the quran and the way its taught by some, you're a racist whos attacking all muslims.

I don't remember which poster mentioned the reaction or lack of it (depending on viewpoint) from Muslims after terror attacks but this is in response to that poster. This writer has been accused of being quite anti Western culture at times and even she believes this is an issue to be addressed by Muslim communities. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/islamic-state/12006370/We-Muslims-cant-wait-for-the-next-bomb-before-wespeak-out.html

the worst part is the radical preachers actually teach people to exploit what they explicitly call ''the useful idiots''. people need to wake up bigtime

It might help you sleep easier at night knowing I've had black room mates for years and have friends from places like Algeria. The alt right garbage is a fragment of your imagination, and a tool used to label people like me as racist because you can't abstain from the butthurt felt since Trump won the election and I was one of the few saying he would win. If you have a personal problem with me, PM me and stop bringing your accusations into threads like this. Your choice, otherwise I won't talk to you again which is no steam off my back. If you can't wrap your head around people saying stupid things when they're high, you're the one who needs help and not me.

They murdered 137 people in a single attack in France a year ago injuring another 400. Back in July in France they killed another 100 with 400+ injured. A year ago they killed 34 people in Brussels injuring 350. In recent times times in the US they've been major attacks killing people in nightclub with automatic weapons.
Those are different attacks. How does pointing out the details of those attacks and their effectiveness have any bearing on the details and effectiveness of this attack?

How would I be butt hurt about Trump winning. I live in Ireland, and not America.

It's the culmination of attacks most notably over the last 2 years that have snowballed. Yesterdays attack adds to it, so I don't think it was insignificant. People died, many were critically injured.
