The suspect appears to be middle eastern by Mirror photos. No doubt linked to ISIL. I wonder how many attacks are prevented by MI5 etc

I think a few weeks ago they said that there have been 13 failed attempts in the last 3 years.

no it won't. but you know that. nice little sound bite though.

Pretty sure they do know it and was making the point sarcastically.

he could just be having a bad day:rolleyes:

It's unlikely but not impossible. If they find note on him about fathers for justice we'll all be shocked (me too).

At the moment we can assume that it's probably related to militant islam. The guy might be mentally disturbed as well. But there's always the chance that it's completely unrelated.

3 of the injured are French students.

France have really had a bad time of it the last few years, poor kids.

would they not have had armed police on the gates of parliament? how did the guy get so far in to stab an officer?

    Westminster is fairly open.

Cars are really dangerous and I hope my assumption, that people are almost all decent, is responsible for the lack of attacks rather than it being an overlooked avenue for terror, because it has the potential to be a far more dangerous form of terrorism than guns or bombs.

You wouldn't be guaranteed to cause carnage though, if that was your aim, not like a truck or a plane. As likely as not the first person you struck would knock you off course and you'd crash into a lampost...

Bit like going on a 'rampage' with a carving knife, you could kill ten people or noone...

Depends on how you happened to be right. A guy posted a screenshot of something. I'm assuming it was a news article based on what he said afterwards and a load of people said "Proof!!". It wasn't proof. When they turned out to be right, they just happened to be right.

And I don't think anyone said that he wasn't "asian". (I'm putting that in quotations because for a lot of people here asian might mean chinese etc). All anyone said was that we didn't know. All we had was some randomer on the internet saying so.

Now we have the photo of the police standing around him we have proof. (it's still possible that we might be mistaken but it's highly unlikely).

Il put it this way the picture it seen is from the area in parliament that the officer was stabbed the perpetrator was shot that I'm certain now the man being loaded into the ambulance is a Middle eastern looking man I would say personally so either the police officer is Middle Eastern or the perpetrator is that I can't tell

And today is the anniversary of the attack at Brussels airport.
The security services know of many radicalised people and of others willing to lend logistical support. Time to quietly but firmly eradicate those that are known to be terrorists.

Some are, some aren't. I was over last year and inside the railings there were visibile officers with guns, as well as a few outside. The guys at the gates/barriers didn't have visible guns which did strike me as odd.

An attack on a parliament is fairly unusual. Radical Islamists seem more interested on high casualties among ordinary citizens.
The last attack on the UK's parliament, in the form of an MP killing was related to Brexit.
    Just saying.

No, there have been numerous attacks and attempted attacks of police and army officers across Europe. There was one attempt in Paris just days ago. also, Isis propaganda has urged followers to commit attacks by running people over and stabbing them. Just saying

They do have armed police...that's who shot the suspect after he made a run at the gate..unfortunately it was an unarmed officer who first tackled him.

The sad thing is that I've become accustomed to these reports, their shock value has all but dissipated.

What a horrible world we live in, and what a horrible horrible world our kids are set to inherit.

Whoever referenced that Black Mirror episode earlier was bang on the money. There's a member of Scotland Yard giving a press conference live on Sky News down by the Thames and the amount of absolute gombeens with their phones obnoxiously out in front of them recording is ridiculous.

Problem is nobody is willing to "eradicate" the problem, this all stems from the wars in the middle east, no matter what way you look at it

At least with the RA there was an end goal i.e. United Ireland.

These ****ers just want everyone to die.

Maybe that's a good thing in some ways. The point of a terrorist attack is to terrorise. If they don't have that effect then they aren't as effective.

As for your kids, well numbers show that the deaths from terrorist attacks have on average been dropping since the last century. The last year or so has seen an increase but hopefully that's a blip. The kids are going to hopefully have a better world than we did when we were kids.

prove it. it might very well be but until actual proof from the authorities comes out then your statement is just a claim which means jot. sorry about that.

Al-Qaeda did have political aims. Most islamic groups did. ISIS are just nuts though.

Well, I'm just surprised that more attacks like this in the U.K. haven't taken place recently. M15 and the police seem to be doing a pretty good job.

Remember folks, a man shouting "Britain First" while he stabs a politician in broad daylight is just a mentally unstable loner.

A middle eastern man who drives car through pedestrians before trying to attack a heavily guarded building with a kitchen knife is an agent of a highly sophisticated international terror plot. No way he's a lone lunatic. That's just off the wall.

The end goal is a global caliphate, then there will be peace.

can't be done, it would be against their human rights and the law, as murder is illegal. however, such people are being dealt with on a daily basis by britain's courts. so the authorities are dealing with the issue, via the law.

The know that's not an achievable aim though.

They are a death cult quite simply.

For my daughters sake, I really wish I could believe that. It's not just terror attacks, there's climate change, the threat of large scale war, environmental toxins...the whole world is going to sh!t it seems
