In Tesco dun laoghaire today 4pks of Francis big bangin BB Jan 18 were €4.50, probably phasing it out with the new branding being pushed atm.

I've found various random beers reduced by 50% in various Tesco stores in the past week or so. I assume it's individual stores discontinuing specific lines as they're not short-dated.

As an example, Kenmare stout & red ale reduced to €1.50 in Prussia St.

Seems odd, the large Francis bottles are still full price, not complaining anyway, 8 bottles for €9

Good call on the 330ml Big Banging. Picked up a few packs in my local Tesco.

Not quite in the same bargain league but Dunnes (mine at least) are doing the 4x500ml Big Banging (BB Feb 18) for a tenner.

Just checked local Tescos there. A few beers to be got for 1.50.

Whitewater clothworthy dobbin (1.58 for some reason)
    Whitewater Belfast ale
    Whitewater lager
    Stone barrel boom session IPA
    Munster brewery 12 towers
    Kenmare Porter
    Sharps white shield

Maybe a few more knocking about.

Got 3 of the Clothworthy afraid to get 4 as they were still in the 4 for €10!

The €1.58 is because it's half the regular price (which was probably €3.15).

What beers are half-price depends on the individual store. Some Tesco stores have no delisted beers.

The multi-buy offer doesn't apply if the sum of the individual beers is less. I picked up a good few in a store a few days ago and the multi-buy offer didn't kick in.

Never can be sure though I've seen food offers where a multibuy discount was dearer. They sorted it out when I said it but but I was in a rush yesterday so didn't want the hassle. Might try and pick up a few more then. Got the last 2 packs of the Francis IPA for €4.50

The Clotworthy (nice beer) is same price in my Tesco and the BB is April 17.

O'Briens have 6 for 5 on a wide range of craft beers. Not a huge bargain but a saving none the less.

My local Dunnes are selling O'Hara's DIPA for €3 a bottle. Might be off use to some of you.

All the Aldis seem to be selling the O'Shea's Wheat Beer Belgian Style for €1.69, compared with the still decent €1.89 for the other O'Shea's.

Not the best of the O'Shea's perhaps, I prefer the Stout and Pale Ales, but decent enough.

Short-dated Trouble Brewing Kill Lager going 12 for €9.99 in Carry Out Tyrrelstown.

My local Tesco have a lot of nice stuff on 4 for 10 quid: Magic Rock (High Wire and West Coast IPA), Metalman (Chilli Porter and IPA), Guinness Antwerpen (8%, usually €3.25), McGargles 500ml Little Banging IPA, Founders All Day, Anchor Steam, Lagunitas IPA, Sierra Nevada Torpedo etc.

You can mix and match as well.

Recently Tesco were selling 24can slabs of Guinness, Carlsberg etc for €24. The deal seems to be gone now. Anyone know if any other supermarkets doing similar offers at the moment? thanks

These aren't good beer, or a bargain.

    Those offers area pretty widespread.

Ha ha, I see what you've done there. I've a had a look for stickies etc on this topic and can't find if the thread refers to a good bargain, or "good" beer". Of course defining good beer is interesting. I prefer "craft" beer myself, but many guest to my house do not, they like Guinness. I like Guinness a bit too, but prefer other stouts too numerous to name. (there are flavour differences between Scotch and Irish Whiskey BTW...)

Not a bargain? Is it possible to buy Guinness cheaper than €1 per can? That's cheaper even than they sold any beer when I was a student 20 years ago.

Thanks for another helpful response anyway, I don't want to divert the thread any further, I'll keep an eye out then!
