TableTop Season 4 going behind a paywall

Well, this is a bit of a kicker. TableTop Season 4 is going onto a streaming service (with no definite date for when/if it'll later be on YouTube).

And this is after all the kerfuffle of last season (which I paid to support on Kickstarter). I know it has to make money, but is this the right option to take? And I was so looking forward to it...Skip to 1:28 in video.

I used to watch Table top quite a lot up to a few years back for the boardgames.As it seems to be a lot of role play now I don't bother with it.
If you interested in the boardgame side there is a ton of review sites , alot of them which are better.
The usual ........Dicetower ,undead viking, board game brawl , discriminating gamer , drive thru review ,rahdo , gameboy geek ,marco wargamer ,grey elephant are all good youtube shows.
But Jeremy Salinas (aka drakkenstrike) who returned recently with a new top notch show (man v meeple) with great production values ,is IMO no 1.

I think it's a big mistake - if the point of Tabletop is to introduce games to new players what's the point of hiding it behind a paywall? "Shut up & Sit Down" is where I get most of my boardgame recommendations now anyway.

Even though I watch it weekly , forgot to mention them.So many...............
Also starlight citadels did some great reviews before they closed down,still available on youtube. I think they did a couple of joint reviews with paul from shut up and sit down.

Oh now that is extremely disappointing. I also funded Tabletop last season and was patiently awaiting the new season over the summer. I HATE the idea that they're gonna make it really commercial now. It goes against what I believed to be the whole theme of the show. Getting board games out to a bigger audience. Who's gonna see it now but people who are already interested?

Boo.

(Might mention this to WW at the convention I'm going to this weekend)

Looks like this has been confirmed. Starting back today with 2 episodes on youtube. After that it's heading to some subscription service so they can f*ck right off. Actually raging about this.

Time to start the countdown to January! At least we get two episodes for free immediately.

Just had a look there and episode one is a half an hour. I'm less pissed now that I realise they'll be releasing the episodes in January on youtube but still not happy.

No celebs, but I enjoyed it - prob better banter with a group that knows each other. Tempted by Lanterns (the usual story with games that appear on Tabletop).

I've heard good things about this game. Looks like fun (and a group of gamers who seem to know what they're doing too, which is helpful!). It's a long one though (and only part one! :eek:)
