Good Quality Sofa

    Hi,
Is there a place in Dublin that sells good quality sofas at ~2k price range? We've read so many bad reviews about the quality of DFS and Ikea that sag after a few months, Harvey Normann customer service seems to be rubbish and they don't honour their warranty.
BoConcept and S.O.U.L look really good but I can't find any reviews about them. Would be nice to hear from someone who has had a sofa for a couple of years and can recommend a brand/shop.

    Hi

You will get a good quality sofa in that price range in Arnotts when the sales are on. I just got a Natuzzi one for 1200 in their Jan sale. Waiting times are a killer though - 12/14 weeks

Thanks for your reply. The Natuzzi ones do look good, are the ones in Arnotts made in Italy made in China? I read some bad reviews about the chinese ones here: http://www.topix.com/forum/business/furniture/TGJQ8UGQ5ALEF51MJ/p2

I certainly would not recommend buying Natuzzi. I have two sofas and an armchair that I paid a lot of money for thinking that they would last forever. Within a year they had started to fade in patches and ended up looking a disaster. Natuzzi and Square Deal in Cork wouldn't stand over the guarantee. They were not abused and a much cheaper suite in another room is looking perfect still.

I ended up having them dyed and while that improved them they still look very shabby. I'll never buy Natuzzi again.

Thanks. I'm beginning to think a cheaper sofa from Ikea might be the best deal.

I didn't go for a leather one. I got a fabric so hopefully fading etc won't be an issue. Anyway, for the price you're prepared to pay you should easily be able to get a sofa, you just have to keep an eye out for sales I think.

You could try somewhere like caseys in cork/Limerick, or meubles in Kilkenny. I know people who've bought from both and were very happy with the quality

Try Frank McGowans in Airside, Swords.
I agree re DFS etc... Worth putting the money into quality where possible.
