    I like this. CLK 230 with novelty reg plate, NCT to 2/18 and tax to 2/17 for €500.

    Love it! You'd barely get €50 off but I'd nearly be tempted to get a lift to Wexford to pick that baby up :)

    Beggars can't be choosers for €450, Cyrus. If it's good enough for the NCT, it's good enough for me

    I'd get a bit of dark tape though :p

    Problems;
    -its got a few marks on the body
    -its a green Renault Scenic

    Good;
    -NCT to 6/17
    -Tax to 5/17
    -€350
    The Missus has a '99 version of that Scenic. Have it for about 12 years, Sails thru' the NCT every year. Pretty reliable. Unfortunately, I also use it as a workhorse & broke a rear shock last week. Pair of new shocks costs more that the car is worth !!.

    The Toyota stereo is worth a good chunk of this! Very unusual to see one with this much gear. Usual D-4D caveats apply.

    One downside is I think these only came in 90bhp, 110/116 wasn't on them AFAIK.

    Something appealingly spartan about this. orange lenses and basic wheels.

    Really common problem on them is that the glass falls out of the mirrors. I came up with a permanent fix for it at one point but I can't remember what it was... The cable for the heater always catches it so it won't fall on the ground. :p

    Things like that separate the wheat (Mercedes, BMW, etc.) from the chaff (Toyota, Nissan, etc.) even at the €400 end of bangernomics :D

    what that the glass falls out :D

    They really are great cars those CLKs for the money they are going for these days. As far as I know they all came with cruise etc. You couldn't buy a manual one!! they are lovely quiet comfortable cruisers.

    Thinking back I think I actually used low tech Tech 7 or some such to stick it back in. They break because the plastic clips go really brittle

    Have you owned one before?

    I promise you would like one! the 6 cylinder engines and the Avantgarde suspension setup really makes them. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,873 ✭✭✭✭unkel

    Nope, driven one (boggo 200 auto) but never owned one!

    Why waste your time with a dented one?
    Here is a clean '04 with September NCT for 1250 Euro. I reckon it will sell for 1000-1100. Much better value. Same mileage but 2 years younger.

    The 150 BHP facelift ones are worth more in parts than whole these days.
    750 for the engine, 150 turbo, 150 gearbox, 20 per injector, etc.
    No one wants them with dents, even with NCT as there are too many clean ones for sale for with NCT for around 1K.

    Too much negativity in this thread. So I am unfollowing.
    Its sad when a thread is killed off by big ego's.
    Lads, don't take this so seriously. Under 2K cars, some will like your picks some won't.
    Not worth getting worked up over.

    I thought you said you were done with this thread?
