I hate the direction they are going in some stories. But I acknowledge that, if thats the direction they want to go in, they did a good job of moving down the path.

    If that makes sense.

I feel the same way. i dont like the direction but to get to the stories and mania line up they want there doing a good job.

Oh...I do want to add...I'd never seen Tozawa before, but he looked great, and actually got the crowd behind him, something the CWs have really struggled with. So good for him.

himself and kota ibushi were standouts in the CWC for me. hoping ibushi signs with the WWE at some point he had the most amazing matches in that tournament.

dont think ibushi will ever sign a contract with wwe or hed already be on raw.

he seems like a guy who likes to do his own thing and doesnt care whatever anyone thinks. id bet my money on him headlining wrestlekingdom with omega next year.

im loving what there doing with braun. for me the mania match should be taker vs braun passing of the torch. reigns vs taker is a nothing match for me.

I think giving Goldberg/Lesnar the Universal title is great as it gives the title a bit mor credibility it needs. I know we'll have a part time champ, but I quiet enjoyed Lesnar s last title run. It felt special when he defended the belt.

Also, if it means Balor beating Lesnar for the belt, I'm all for it

Finn won't beat Lesnar. Reigns will.

Over the next three months, Reigns will beat Brawn, Taker and Lesnar.

i dont imagine he will anytime soon but in 3 or 4 years or something.

i really dont like the rumoured card so far. of course plans can change but the 2 rumoured title matches of goldberg vs lesnar and orton vs wyatt while i'd be ok with being further down the card as the dual main event just lack inspiration for me. reigns taker is another dull match for me. wouldnt be sold on braun taker either. i think taker needs a better worked like Balor. at this rate i hope they do something completely unexpected and have bayley charlotte main event with bayley winning her first title :P

for me they should have held off on cena styles and cena getting no 16 til mania, should have gone with owens jericho as the other title match. balor vs taker, samoa joe vs lesnar, braun vs reigns. have 0 interest in seeing anymore of goldberg he had a good character back in the day but was never going to put on any decent match over 3 minutes long and now is even less likely to put on any decent match.

Fully expect Taker to cost Roman the Strowman match, could be just a gong. Good luck to Reigns getting a good match put of a physically very limited Taker.
Doesn't matter who beats Lesnar after the way Goldberg crushed him his mystique is gone now so it's not a huge deal anymore. Whoever is hot coming out of Mania probably should

a match between a guy who could never wrestle vs a guy who has just had a boring matches for the most part for 2 years now shouldnt have the title actually makes me care even less about the match. there last WM match was one of the worst mania matches in history imo

Thought that the Cruiserweights were excellent this week. You had Tozawa getting himself over versus Gulak (who is massively underutilized IMO) while they both worked a style more reminiscent of the CWC. On top of that you had him do the AHHH! chants which went down a treat in a non smarky town. He has a great look too. Add to that, the built in Kendrick storyline and Akira Tozawa could be a star.

Then the championship hunt looks really good too. I enjoyed the lads all arriving down and stating their cases. Noam Dar is such a slimey little sh*t, Neville is believable as the snarling bully boy, Nese is finally getting recognition. On the face side you have the best base ever in Cedric Alexander and the boy can fly too. You have Gentleman Jack Gallagher who is a riot! While I'm not mad on TJP, I think he could be better as a heel but he's good in the ring.

On top off all this you have Austin Aries owning it on the mic segments and then you have the likes of Mustafa Ali looking fresh, the mental Rich Swann, a good high fliers in Lince Dorado and Sin Cara and then Ariya Daivari being a great heel... oh and we're yet to see much of Gran Metalik who is class.

They really could do well with this division if they want to. They need to let them work their CWC style matches though, which they did tonight.

I just had to laugh when Roman Reigns declared himself to be "the baddest man to set foot in the WWE"

Roman pls.. That title belongs to Stone Cold Steve Austin, and to a degree Mike Tyson.

And of course Stephanie undermining Mick Foley during the opening segment..

Looks like Finn won't be back til after mania or a slight chance he will return the night after fast lane and maybe put himself in the y2j/ko fued (triple threat for the Universal title at mania)

if hes putting himself into a triple threat for the UT he better be bringing all the club to take out goldberg and lesnar.

actually that is a way to get the UT off lesnar after mania, have it a NO DQ match and have gallows and anderson help take out lesnar

A heel bullet club with Finn, gallows and Anderson would be cool. It could lead too a summerslam 3 on 2 match bullet club vs lesner/goldberg

They're definitely setting up Taker Reigns for Mania

Reigns called it his yard when he came out againt Joe, that's something Taker has been saying forever

Not so subtle foreshadowing, ala the destroyer, I seen on reddit where someone figured out what HHH meant by the destroyer and fair bloody play

probably would be called the Balor Club and i'd rather and a 3 on 3 vs the shield or the new day :P or a nine man match with all 3 :D

the less i see of lesnar and goldberg the better. lost all respect for lesnar after hearing dean ambrose in the austin podcast saying he wouldnt do anything but suplex city at WM and while the initial destruction of cena was cool every suplex city match since has gotten more and more boring for me. my favourite podcasters steve and larson best describe it with "pee break city".

as for goldberg it was cool to see him back but its clear he cant do anything longer than a few minutes, not that he could ever really do longer matches and last thing i want to see him do is seriously botch a move and put one of the decent younger wrestlers out for a long time he can do what he wants to lesnar :P

tbh i wouldnt mind if brock left the wwe after mania. i have no interest seeing him as the champ.

i really dont have high hopes for this mania so far.

Did they do a MITB match at Mania in recent years? Might be a solution; have Goldberg lose to Lesnar, then someone cashes in with Goldberg's help the next night...

Haven't had high hopes for Mania really since 30, 31 turned out okay but 32 belongs in the trash

Had high hopes for the Rumble and look how that turned out

Best to have no hopes me thinks

Nope, MITB has its own PPV now. They've had a 7 man ladder match for the Intercontinental Title the last two years. I think the Cruiserweights getting that could be good.

havent had one at mania in 7 years. though maybe since i think the ppv is smackdown only they could have a raw one at mania :D

I felt it was a decent Raw. The crowd were better than most weeks.

I thought Reigns sold really well for Joe in the match. He consistently has very good matches for a guy of his size and at only 31, it's reasonable to believe his best years still lie ahead. Definitely looks like he will be facing Taker based on the 'this is my yard' line and he will be the heel for sure in that feud so I'm looking forward to it.

I very much enjoyed the Goldberg segment. He was much better this week. I quite like the idea of Goldberg winning the title which I think will help get over the belt a bit better. It still feels to me like a lesser title compared to the WWE Title. Still not sure though whether he wins it as I could see Brock perhaps costing him the match.

Some people weren't happy about Joe coming out in a suit but I liked it.

i fear that they will try to have him as a heel just for this feud then the next night on raw hell be back to face roman that no one likes. sort of like shawn when he went full heel againist hogan then like nothing was a face with no turn or anything

My stance really remains unchanged; Brock vs Goldberg's story has already been built up as not needing the title. It adds nothing to the story, especially since they've already confirmed their Mania match. The motivation was already there (and awesome) for Brock to want to destroy Goldberg, and I feel there's other feuds that could do with the title more...

I liked it too. Made him look way more badass, like a hired gun but a dangerous, confident one.

I think he'll go in as a face

Maybe have him turn during the match, or after

In reality I see them see it as a face vs face match, the old guy vs the guy, they won't turn him, did they ever turn Cena? We're destined to have Roman Reign

I was thinking the same, have him more heelish than Taker in the run up but when the match is done, its all hugs and passing the torch

So Joe was the hottest free agent? Didn't he just come from NXT?

And next week is the biggest Raw ever, with Emmalina finally arriving.... until they change their minds again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,076 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

So was thinking, I guess Goldeberg will have to squash Owens to not make Brock look completely weak.

    Vince
wants a finish similar to Lesnar/Goldberg at Survivor Series
    at Fastlane.
