I passed AC first time after going to classes from an ex-officer. Was in a different area than you mentioned but I definitely wouldnt have passed without them.

I went to those 2...good info and advice about what likely to encounter and opportunity to clarify any queries and hear others' questions and comments also! I went to them for both the IST and then AC. Some felt they were only telling you whats in all the info but i defo felt it helped, at least more confident!

Personally not for me. I had thought about it before I applied however I do feel like nothing will ever prepare you for the AC.
I think that it's either in you or not.
Probably being controversial as these sessions may be useful for some.
I think the AC is constantly changing now so the material these sessions cover may not be fully covering the AC experience

The tutoring for AC should be about interview techniques etc and box ticking atbthe end of the day its a game and unless you are playing the game right you can't win.

I honestly think its about saying key words and doing things in the sequence they want. The classes helped me. I was lucky enough to get them free of charge and probably wouldnt have paid not knowing what to expect from them. I feel like they gave me confidence and i went in with a clear plan in my head. I would not have scored as high without them. Also great opportunity to meet people in the same campaign. They do have a high success rate as they dont teach specifics.. they teach transferable skills and make you think abit more about how to approach things. I also felt practising with strangers and getting feedback was invaluable.

There will be recruitment after March. We got 5 intakes out of the first batch which would bring us up to June. Then there is usualy a month gap. This would bring it up to August and if you extrapolate out the second group being progressed now then that would be 5 intakes and bring that up to the end of the year ready for the new campaign to start after.

Took the following text from the police federations December 2016 report. Massive need for officers in the next 2 years.

'Furthermore a total of 758 Officers are eligible to maximise their pension before the end of
2018, identifying the potential retirement of 11.2% of the entire PSNI workforce within just
twenty four months. This excludes any additional decline in Officer numbers based on medical
grounds, dismissals or resignations.'

Look at the positives folks.

To me this will be THE campaign to be involved in. In terms of need for officers I reckon this will be the fastest and most efficient campaign to date.

£27k starting salary; the perks of a private company.

I believe their process is pretty much identical to the English one. The application form itself will eliminate most people.

Only if Psni are taking on transferees which is very rare I think
