Fast Racing RMX has double the amount of tracks and it performs well, that's me happy.

If I change my backing of Yooka-Laylee from Wii U to Switch will the code have an expiry date? I likely won't be buying the Switch for some time. Might be better off getting a refund as I can see this getting a physical release down the line. And it'll be too late if I ask for a Switch code that's been sitting idle in the meantime and then a disc version comes out. I don't see an answer to that in the FAQ's. Might send them a Tweet.

I'll be outside Smyths, glad I have the Friday off work as well, I'm very tempted to stay up all night playing zelda!

Same. Is it confirmed they're doing midnight openings?

aye, the boss for the one in wilton in cork said hes trying to get permission but it would require paying the shopping center to stay open and paying for security to keep people confined to just that part of the center.

mines booked for the one in the city center though and he said they just got the ok from what he heard :D:D:D:D

I'm starting to get more positive about it seeing some games I'm interested in coming out for it. Still holding off til 2018 though.

One thing I'll be very curious about is how the actual hardware holds up over time - plugging the unit in and out of the dock, removing and re-connecting the joycons, light bleed on the screen - hopefully there'll be little to no reports of wonky hardware after a few weeks use!

What games have people preordered? I managed to completely forget about that part. Have to go into Gamestop on Saturday and order something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Just Zelda :) Other stuff when they're cheaper.

obviously botw which i have paid off along with the console and a case in gamestop but also bought 1,2 switch off amazon with a charging grip when they had the 10 pound off deal. i cant imagine i'll play it that much but will be good for parties and for the price im happy enough with it got both for 42 with the 10 pound off and 10 euro left on a one for all that was a gift at xmas.

also pre ordered bomberman currently marked as 50 on gamestops site so if it stays that price im ok with it. could get cheaper online probably but want it day one so will pay that extra bit. wont get it if it goes up to match whats on smyths site of 65 though

"When will you share more details on Yooka-Laylee for Nintendo Switch?

We continue to work closely with Nintendo on plans for a Nintendo Switch version of Yooka-Laylee and more details will be revealed in the future. We’re working as hard and fast as we can and are looking forward to giving you the answers you’re looking for on many topics including release timing. As soon we’re 100% certain of our plans, we’ll share them with you straight away – promise! We’d like to thank our many Nintendo fans for their continued patience and understanding.

Note: Upon release, the Kickstarter Switch version will be delivered to backers via digital game codes and thus no additional upgrade cost is required. For Kickstarter, unfortunately physical Switch editions are beyond our scope right now, as we anticipate the difference in costs compared to digital formats would result in further expense to backers which we’re unable to accurately determine at this point in time. If circumstances change, we’ll update you ASAP as we 100% would love to do a Physical Release on Switch."

It's not an official amiibo, I just think it looks nice.

You think because it's not official you didn't just join the dark side? Once you give in to Amiibo, even fake ones, forever will they dominate your destiny! Consume you, your wallet and a good chunk of available shelf and mantle piece space they will!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,250 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

It wouldn't look as good if it were official. ;) It's true though, compromises would be made in the manufacturing.

Kinda gone all in; Bomberman, 1,2 Switch, Zelda Special edition, extra joycons, charging grip and case.
A Nintendo console release is always a special thing for me. They're the only manufacturer where I've owned absolutely every iteration of the hardware (well ok, no virtual boy) , and to be honest, they've never disappointed me.

I'm the same, a new Nintendo console is always a huge deal for me, I have Zelda and a pro controller pre-ordered and I think I'll pick up 1,2 switch and Bomberman as well and when Mario Kart comes out I'll get some extra joycons! It's going to be an expensive month!!

I have Zelda special edition ordered online but wont arrive for a few days after launch and because i have the console day one in Gamestop I will join the dark side and buy a game from them probably Bomberman or 1 2 Switch.

Snipper clips and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth I think are getting an on disc release in USA so I'll order them with soem upcoming blu rays I'm wanting

I think I'll order Zelda, Switch 1/2 and maybe a pro controller... Preorder is paid off so shouldn't make me completely broke :-/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 985 ✭✭✭Atari Jaguar

I can't afford to buy my switch on launch so if anyone in Wexford/willing to drive to Wexford wants a switch day one send me a PM and you can have it. Just give me your name and I'll change the order in store.

Man, no one thinks about protection in the frantic, dizzying hype leading up to the big night. It's only afterwards when it's too late and the damage is done.

And even if you do, it's a midnight launch - you know the 24hr petrol station won't have anything official, you'll just have to use and empty tayto bag or something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Think most of the cases seen to include screen protectors.
