So what I'm taking from all that is......Zelda on Wii U looks absolutely fantastic and is here very soon!!!

As far as Switch stuff......massive meh.........and massive price!

Haven't watched the presentation yet but I heard the Zelda trailer was great. But sweet Jebus those prices!!! 350 euro no doubt for the bare console? Plus, I'm sure they will be pricing their games same as the other two. (Same Skyrim version you can get on PS4 for 30 quid will be 65? Thanks but no thanks)

I'll wait until they drop it at the very MOST to 250

Looks like Nintendo have bungled another hardware reveal. I can't believe the current launch line up is so bad. Nearly equal to the 3DS line up of games if it weren't for Zelda.

The 2.5 to 6 hour battery life doesn't sound too promising. You would have to assume anything that is even remotely demanding will be closer to the 2.5 hour battery life. The price as well is more than I expected, especially if you throw in paid online services.

Right now I'm wavering on whether to cancel my pre-order.

Bit underwhelmed by the price but the Mario and (particularly) Zelda trailers were exactly what I wanted to see.

The presentation itself was very up & down. I think the 3rd party speakers was a misstep if they weren't going to show anything.

I know it was a Japan focused presentation but there definitely felt like there was a distinct lack of "western" style games.

You do all realise the Wii U version of Zelda won't look as good as the Switch version, right?

Well no, but is that worth whatever the additional price tag is?

Yes. For me anyway. I'm super pumped now I've had 3 and a half hours sleep :D

    Hard to argue with any of this;

Kudos to Nintendo for managing to mess this up so well!

I preferred the GameCube version of Zelda to the one that was released on the Wii. I can live with inferiority.

Of course, but from what I've seen, the difference isn't much, and most certainly not €400 much.

We don't know exactly how different they'll be. I'll more than likely get it on wii u.

Coming up as €320 for me on gamestop, I'm still on the fence though

I'm really not sure if I'm going to pull the trigger on day 1. The Switch itself is a nice concept for a console and it looks impressive.

Forking over €350 or so for a console with one meaningful launch game doesn't seem like a worthwhile investment.

I was so hyped since October and the Jimmy Fallon stuff. I feel so underwhelmed and disappointed. I'm sure there'll be a great library of games for the system but I can't help but feel that Nintendo have really dropped the ball.

I would probably pick one up on day 1 if they had priced it adequately but given the price of the console and controllers, it just doesn't seem worth it right now despite how amazing Zelda looks.

I'm gonna screenshot that and keep it. 320 isn't too bad.

If I never had a Wii U, or didn't know they existed, I'd be in. But I do have a Wii U, so there was absolutely nothing there to win me over right now.

Seems like they will be lacking 3rd party support. Good quality third party support is a must have, it doesn't matter how good your first party games are, there is only so many you can release a year. You need good third party support to fill the gap.

Then just look at some of the 3rd party titles already announced. A "custom" Fifa, in other words last years Fifa or a feature stripped Fifa, and Skyrim, a 6 year old game that pretty much anybody who would want to play it will already have done so. Plus Skyrim will likely mean about 2.5 battery life too.

€320 is actually cheaper than the UK's price right now, by about 9 quid, according to anpost. We're quids up for once.

€320 isn't too bad actually as I was annoyed at the €350. Hopefully Gamestop don't bundle a load of tat with it to bring the price up.

After watching the presentation I'm not only not on the fence, but there is no fence. I can't see any reason to pre order a switch. We know of two games at launch, 1.2 switch and Zelda. Zelda is a will u port and from what I could tell 1,2 switch isn't even a game, the pads rumble or something? Save your money, wait until mario is out and there'll probably be a few games worth buying by then.

    Pre-ordered Zelda on wii U :D €45!

It abit expensive €320 for the switch no game compared to the ps4 and Xbox one were you can it cheaper with a game.I think Nintendo are a little greedy,I wait till Autumn when they might drop the price and add a bundle and I pick up Mario and zelda.

I've pre ordered on amazon , but thinking of cancelling it to be honest. Can't justify that price for basically 1 launch game( Zelda). Will wait until Xmas and see how the line up is then. They really dropped the ball with this.

Switch is in Smyth's for 350 now. I'm surprised GameStop is cheaper even if it is just 30 quid.

Since its Region Free, is it a case that if we're over in the states, we can buy the $300 version and bring it home and have it work without problems over here?

That shocking alright but would preorder in GameStop rather than smyth because they always take to many preorder and your never sure you get one at launch.

Really disappointed, have always been a Nintendo fan first and foremost. My PS3 gave up the ghost last summer (lightning strike!!) but I've been holding out since then before deciding about a new console. I can't see any reason not to go PS4 or XB1 now, especially considering price and bundled games with both of those. A pity...

    Yeah. So thats nice anyway.

Don't forget that the advertised prices in the US doesn't include sales tax. You should be adding on an extra 10-15%.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

I'm not buying it in the US :P Probably be a few quid cheaper than here either way.

I'll have to have a good look at the presentation after work but what has been announced isn't getting me all that excited. I'll buy one because Nintendo games are far better than the generic safe boring that passes for good games on the PS4.

The games I'm most interested in, the new Shin Megami Tensei and Xenoblade are likely 2-3 years off.
