what are best performing primary schools? Dublin north

    Hi all, my family and i are moving to Dublin from the UK. I am just after opinions from you all as to what are the best primary schools in the area north of Dublin, Balbriggan / swords area.

    Ireland, unlike the UK doesn't do primary "ratings", thank goodness! There are whole school inspection reports published instead.

    Your biggest worry in Dublin will be to find a school with space.
    Do you want single sex or mixed?Religious ethos or multi-denominational (There are no non denom primaries in Ireland)

    thank you for you quick reply, im happy for them to go to mixed school and religious too. my family are from Ireland originally and are catholic. its nice to hear that the primary school dont have to compete in league tables like here in the UK. please could you advise me on what web site i would need to visit for school and registrations etc. :)

    you need to contact each school individually.
    Schools in Ireland set their own individual enrollment policies.
    Finding a school with space will be your biggest issue.

    Hi, I'm looking for a primary school in the northern part of Dublin as well. Did you make your choice? Which school did you choose? What is the enrollment policy there? We have 2.5 years

    All schools have individual enrolment policies which include catchment areas. The school of choice may come down to where you live. Schools in swords are quite oversubscribed so you will need to investigate quickly if you're looking for a junior infant place for this September.
