Different layout when accessing from Northern Ireland

Why do I get a totally different layout when accessing boards.ie from the north? The layout is different if accessing from mobile or laptop, I don't want to say it's an awful layout, but for someone used to accessing using the standard ROI interface, let's just say it's pretty difficult to navigate!! Why do I get a totally different layout when accessing boards.ie from the north? What's the reason for this and is there any easy way to circumvent?

Outside of ROI you get the new interface; inside of ROI you get the old interface. At the bottom of the screen there's a link to change it back to the old interface.
