We are moving in the next couple of months as we both have jobs lined up in Cork City. We would like to live in a village no more than an hour away from the city. Can anyone advise us on where is nice and where to avoid ? We are at first renting with a view to buying once we are there. Cheers x

Too broad. Most of the commuter towns are nice. What are you looking for?

Clonakilty is lovely, about 45 mins from the city. Douglas/Rochestown are nice too, but are not villages per sé.

    Random enough request.

Why an hour away from the city?

What side of the city is work... that will make a big difference.
And what's the budget. No point in us saying kinsale if you work on the northside and can't afford anything in kinsale.

Depends what side of the city you are working in, will change completely the range of places to look at.

A request like that could get a few dozen suitable replies.

You really need to be more specific.
