    hi all,

i am looking for some friendly advice from some knowledgable Mac users about whether or not i need to give up on my macbook or persist with it for a few more years.

as a starter i don't use the computer for much but web browsing and the like. it is about 10 years old i would say, 2007 i think! so it has had a good innings. the hard drive was replaced about 5 years ago and the OS is snow leopard OS X 10.6.8.

    the specs are:

    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B07
    SMC Version (system): 1.13f3

The main reason i ask is that the version of safari 5.1.10 no longer supports a lot of websites and the computer is getting quite slow at this stage.

im not sure i want to fork out another 2K for a computer which i don't use to its fullest potential. would love to know what other mac users think. is there life in this old dog yet, or is it time to retire it?

apologies if this is the wrong place for such questions, appreciate all advice.

    Thanks.

    Will
