Apple's One-Day Shopping Event / Black Friday

    Just got an email from Apple saying their usual annual "One-Day Shopping Event" is this coming Friday. It's likely that there will be no discounts on their blockbuster or brand new products (iPhone 7 or Touch Bar MacBooks) but some older and mid-range lines will see discounts of up to 10%.

    Does anyone have any recollection of previous years deals? Do the prices go live at midnight? I'm hoping to pick up a Apple Watch S1.

    Didn't they do gift cards in some countries last year instead of discounts?

    I'm not expecting much either way.

    Since we don't have an Apple Store, it will probably be a straight up discount over here. That's what they did last year.

    If there's any form of discount I think I'll stump up for a leather case.
    I have the black silicone on mine now.

    I've had many cases over the years but I think the Apple ones just fit that much better.

    It will be a gift card for their Irish online store... I'm guessing. Would much prefer the straight discount!

    i wont be, i'm looking at the iphone se
    if they'd given the €25 off the phone i might have,
    but as it stands getting it from vodafone is still cheaper

    It works if you are deffo buying either way. You could do a deal with someone to use the voucher afterwards or sell the voucher to someone for half price.

    Hint hint cough cough :)

    SE gives a €25 gift card. Not great tbh

    I'd sell my gift card at a €5 loss if anyone is looking to make a saving. Buy from enough ppl and it adds up!

    Exact same here, i never use case on my iPhone but 7+ matte black is slippery as hell as so annoying with fingerprints, i bought silicone case , now looking for leather case, what color you going for? I might go for saddle brown.

    also if someone is willing to sell voucher i might buy.

    I had the navy blue one on my 6 so I may go for the same or else the deep sea blue one.

    I've been swayed by the S2 Apple Watch over the S1. Which means I won't be getting the euro gift voucher.
    However I was always using a €100 gift voucher I got for my birthday as a payment method. If anyone wants it please send me a PM. Preferably in Dublin City Centre but we can work it out online too.
