Is there a Liveline in the Costa Del Sol? Miguel will be getting loads of calls from irate Brits!

Gibraltar will be interesting, Brexit will be like building a wall around Finglas.

These people are good examples of people who should become citizens. Here for decades etc.

However, they probably should have sorted it by now and quite frankly should just pay the fee.

Darko to sensible for silly Irish peeple

Are you not listening listener ? Dey're not Irish, that's their problem, they don't want to fill in the forms or pay up to become Irish.

The British deserve the world of pain coming to them over Brexit. I'm delighted for them. They're like a gambler who wants a full refund when their bet loses. They were a pain in the EU. Who else would get away with staying in the EU and keeping their currency? Now it's time to suck it up and see where the exclusivity gets them

Should be the same here, should have to do an exam and pay for it

Imo, the gov't should ask applicants to learn an instrument and a minimum working level of Irish. National contests could be held and the top ten contestants get free passports.

Don't know what all the panic is. No way the Brits are leaving the EU at the end of the day. There'll be a whole rigmarole about exit conditions and lots of controversy, so they'll have another vote to accept the conditions/ leave or stay. End of story.

A forden host doing a Liveline type show of an evening would be gold with the callers they would get.

We didn't ask the UK to vote for their Brexit mess.

The Irish passport seems to be in great demand these days.

He makes a good point, all of a sudden it's people from Britain complaining about the fee and form, when for years nobody so much gave a thought of calling Liveline.

I don't see the problem with them taking a few classes just about Irish history, culture and geography. Easy stuff. Hardly draconian.

It can only help them and any would be citizen should be happy about it.

It takes much longer to join some Irish golf and fishing clubs than become an Irish Citizen!

Look Michael, do you know what else you've done for 70 years? Held British citizenship.

Wouldn't do any harm if many Irish citizens took a few classes about the reality of Irish history.
