From what I've seen of the Mitchels, they look well organised and their movement of the ball is very quick. They look like they could be hard to beat. I haven't heard a whole lot about Corofin this year though. Any word on what they've been like?

Any word on a time for the match next weekend seligehgit?

Corofin going well too from what I've seen of them. Nobody came close to them in Galway this year.

I'd prefer Corofin to get knocked out of this so that Galway have a full contingent to pick from at the start of next year. If it was any other club, I'd like to see them progress but Corofin have already won enough!

Great wins for Westport and Louisburgh. 3 Mayo teams still in contention.

Can't see it happening tbh and if he does, he will be in his 30s and I am not sure if he would be a big addition at that stage of his career.

Anyone know how his younger brother is doing?

I would say he will wait for another year as he probably wouldn't have said nothing and just retired. I hope he waits as he is so important. Rochford just needs to tell him something to that effect so he realizes this. He is probably still a bit fed up after the final but that will go once the new year kicks in.

Surprised to hear he's the first Mayo POTY, although the fact that the award nearly always goes to an All-Ireland winner might help explain...

I think he came across very well. It reminded me a bit of the McDonald interview especially when he mentioned the media, the way he chills out before the games and the team ethic.

    Sunday from 1.30 on TG4

    Connacht Club Football Semi Final

Castlebar Mitchels (Mayo) v Corofin (Galway)

    Ulster Club Football Semi Final

    Killyclogher (Tyrone) v Slaughtneil (Derry)

I presume the Mitchels game is on at 2, fuming but I can't make it again but at least TG4 coverage will keep me happy.

Ref playing a cracker here for castlebar mitchells.keeping them in it nicely

At the game, pretty dour stuff. Still give Mitchels a shout at f they can maybe nick a goal.

I can't believe we're still in the contest, the Mitchels have been very disappointing to put it mildly.Very pedestrian and cumbersome buildup play,an at this stage almost total reliance on winning a free(on occasion soft in nature) is not good enough.

Some awful wides from placed balls and play.

In marked contrast Corofin have constructed some lovely scores but will be very disappointed to be only two points to the good at the break.

Surely Castlebar Mitchels can only but improve in the second half with the assistance of the wind?

6 games in 6 weeks probably too much to ask in the end. They looked fairly knackered. Much needed break for the likes of paddy Durcan and Barry Moran.

All a bit 'meh' in the end in Castlebar yesterday.

I got the vibe that most people were looking at the county picture and having everyone getting a good rest and having a full panel to choose from for the league in the new year.

Mayos objective for the NFL the last few years was requiring enough points to say up and unless Rochford aims to win the league title in 2017 they won't need full panel to choose from.

Apart from B Moran,Durcan how many county standard division one and regular championship business end footballers do Castlebar have? Plenty of talk about Douglas but I doubt on his showing yesterday and the two club AL finals he will bring much improvement to the Mayo forward line.

That's a valid argument, deserved win for Corofin yesterday. No talk re resting of players pre the loss yesterday but I do believe the punishing schedule caught up on Castlebar Mitchels.I would expect Corofin to be possibly challenging for honours on St. Patrick's day.

It is a shame for Neil Douglas but I would agree with your thinking.

I don't think we'll know with Neil Douglas untill he's given a proper shot at it at county level.

His free taking technique really needs to be looked at.
It appears as if it can't be anything but inconsistent by the way he kicks the ball-much too forced.
His success ratio on Sunday certainly seemed to say that.

He has improved from last year where I felt he was well short of county standard, he's probably still short but heading in the right direction.

One for the FBD at the moment.
