Finally catching up on the fights I fell asleep during, Nurmagomedov is scary on the ground.
In saying that, I think he'd be wrecked by an elite striker. Far, far too easy to hit.
The likes of Conor or someone with a similar background would murder him.

I agree. But when he chose to go ground it was efforrtless

The scorecard has woodley by split decision written on it. Probably read that without thinking.

    That's his writing I believe.

all this talk of scorecards, have the 1st round scores from McGregor-Alves appeared anywhere? surely that many knockdowns is a 10-8?

They might be somewhere, but it doesn't seam to be as common when it's an earlier finish. A 5th round finish and it'll appear. 2nd, is less likely.

I can't remember the Mendes scorecard specifically. I thought it was just a given that he lost round 1.

Khabib murders conor if he gets him down an extremley dangerous fight for conor.

''Chad murders conor if he gets him down an extremley dangerous fight for conor.''

''Eddie murders conor if he gets him down an extremley dangerous fight for conor.''

you can be as good a wrestler as you like but if you can't protect yourself from that left it makes no difference...and going on khabib's last two fights, thats going to be tough for him!

The love for conor is big in here:)

Im saying i have never seen anyone man handle someone on the ground like khabib did to johnson. He is unbeaten 24-0 with 8tko 8 submissions 8 decisions he is well rounded but johnson was a big dude and he was helpless on the ground with khabib.
Conor knows this thats why he was himming and hawing bot fighting him in post press conference, conor normally loves fighting anyone but not so sweet on fighting khabib.

We all pretending Michael Johnson is some grappling god that got dominated? im on the Khabib train but his win over RDA was far more impressive.

All im saying is that khabib is a real bad match up for conor his intensity on the ground would be too much for conor in my opinion ending in similar fashion to johnson fight.
I understand fully that conor has done extremly well as regards to takedown defenses against diaz and even alvarez and wont be easy to takedown.

If it stays standing conor has advantage 65-35
If it goes to ground khabib has advantage 80-20

    That a fair assumption?

Yeah, I agree, we heard it all before. We did.

But in the same way that Joe Rogan describes every card as 'the most stacked', every fight is a 'dangerous fight' for Conor. Except guys... this card was actually the most stacked, and Khabib is a f#cking dangerous fight for Conor.

Come out of the fog if you think any different.

the ''if (insert wrestler here) takes him down he'll murder him'' argument has been disproven and is quite frankly becoming tired. Khabib is a dangerous wrestler sure, but so was eddie, so was chad and what happened there? It'll be the same story all over again, Khabib rocks up with his gameplan, ''I'm going to maul my way to a win here'', then Conor finds his chin and the gameplan goes out the window. Same sh!t different day.

Khabib got rocked by Johnson early on, nuff said. Too much precision and power in McGregors left, would have kebab knocked out before any takedown attempt

Its a 50-50 fight both have weaknesses which the other fighter excels at and khabib unbeaten adds to the mix.

Khabib v diaz with winner facing conor would make sense i think.

His ground game would be the weakest part of his arsenal would be fair to say would it not??? Hes not incredibly bad at it but its not a place he ever tries to take a fight and this was highlighted when he was finished by diaz and when chad had him down he didnt look to happy.
As i said im very impressed with his takedown defence especially against nate in second fight he knows on the ground with nate is not where he wants to be.

Did you miss the Holloway fight?

The Diaz loss has nothing to do with his grappling skills either and Mendes was ko'd after doing nothing from guard passed an Conor escaped a gullotine, why take a fight to the ground when he can light them up with his hands?

Its getting exhausting trying to express my opinion here!ha

Johnson is a high level wrestler and was mauled by khabib if a high level wrestler is getting mauled by khabib i dont want to see conor undeneath khabib is what im saying.

    Fair enough?

Yes mendes alvarez all big grappler ground game men but khabib is 24-0 and mauled dos anjos mauled johnson.

Khabib is a bad dangerous man for conor to be in there with would u agree?

Yeah well those opinions arent welcome here! :D

nah but seriously, you're arguing your opinion, I have different opinions and we're arguing them, thats how a discussion site works?

no-one is saying Khabibs ground game isn't dangerous, I just think McGregors left is more of a danger.

Especially seeing him been caught by Horcher and Johnson who aren't on same stratosphere as Conor when it comes to striking, As Jk said earlier though it's good to always have people doubting.
