Also I did indeed get one from the UK. My sister from the UK will bring it over for me on Wednesday, £50 which is fine. **** you scalpers.

Damn you damn you to hell. £50 was a great price, none in Newry anywhere today. Cex newry said 30 people in looking for them yesterday alone it's like they expect them to appear from no where.

There's hardly anywhere to buy new games in Newry anyway.

I feel really sorry for those paying the extortionate fees, it's a right shame.

Really don't think any of those sellers are regulars on here or ever.

I honestly don't blame the scalpers. It's the people paying nearly 3 times the rrp to get it.
I'm raging i didn't get mine, despite preordering in July and it's a kick in the nuts I have to wait because I've the week off to enjoy it but there's no way I'm paying more than €60 for this.
I'll wait, Argos will have it 25th November and hopefully my preorder comes through.
Scalpers couldn't sell at mad prices if people just had patience. Or have there kids a valuable lesson, that you can't always get what you want.
Heck for €150, you're not far off a Famicom AV, which is way cooler than this mini.

I know kids want presents for christmas or can't wait. But just wait. If people didn't pay the scalpers, they'd be left losing money on those NES's probably, rather than making it.

Nintendo Classic Mini is the Sphero BB-8 of 2016

Now all we need is for M&S to stock and misprice it and we're flying

It happens all the time, unfortunately. Probably happen with the switch too.

I don't think it'll be the same thing with the Switch. The Mini NES was a sort of novelty, where the Switch being a main console it will be made sure to launch with big numbers and even short term stock shortages are usually ironed quick. There also won't be the holiday period rush that these scalpers are preying on with these ridiculous prices.

I rather think that is the point.
I'm hoping this will build brand recognition and momentum behind the Switch.
A sell out of the Switch at launch to a bunch of hitherto non fans would be the almost best possible result.
It would be a huge triumph to have the Switch become the next PS2 in terms of sales.

I'm sure they'd settle for DS level sales... :D

Pre-ordered from Smyths back when it was first announced, got an email yesterday saying they'll have them in stock some time during the week of the 21st. Anyone gotten one delivered from Smyths?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Brr Something

Just in case anyone is completely desperate to get one in Limerick... just passed by CEX in Cruises St. They have one in the window.. 100 Euro.
I'd personally prefer to wait and not to feed the craziness but if a parent is going mad looking for Santa , it's an option.

Is no one who got one going to post a picture to rub in what we're missing? :D

    According to the unboxing:

you are right, it's just a mini usb. Can pick up a plug adaptor cheaply anywhere.

Absolute muppets. Totally out of order (no pun intended!).

I'd think twice before going to them anytime soon.

This one, just gone up on Adverts, is definitely worth the inflated price because it somehow has Sonic on it...

Seller is obviously a gaming enthusiast. Just don't ask if Sonic and Knuckles is included, who know what he might do.

Same as me but got an email this morning saying it's been despatched and they've taken money from my account so hopefully yours is on its way

I meant to post this here yesterday. I sent an e-mail to Argos asking various questions about the NES Mini Classic, how much, the date it'll be in stock, separate NES Mini Classic controller, etc. Here's their response.

A Japanese Hacker Has Cracked The Famicom Mini Already

Only basic first steps, but opens the door to homebrew and eventually expanding the game lineup.

That would make me buy one if there was a third party USB boot device with all NES games
