I have my D1 test next Wednesday. Not worried about the driving Test but am about the Cpc practical test.
Does anyone have any info on the questions asked? Already passed the multi choice questions and case studies but that was 6 months ago. I can't remember any of it now as it was all a load of rubbish and just a money making raket!!

Yes you will need to hire a bus. As the practical test will demonstrate to the examiner that you know your way around the coach. You will be asked to perform you visual dail checks. To show the vehicle MAM on the rating plate etc, etc. Then answer a series of questions, your instructor will be able to provide you with the Q&A's.

It won't last more than 20/30 mins, if you prepare in advance you'll be grand, its just common sense really.

    Best of luck.

    Thanks Pat.

I'm in the unusual position that I don't have to do the driving test, just the practical. ( Have D1 from before ). So I'll probably have to get 1 or 2 sessions with an instructor just to cover the Q&A bits etc.

One other thing. Do I need to be wearing Hi Vis jacket & protective footwear during the practical walkaround ?

I was in the same position as yourself, had the driving test completed at a much earlier time.

Get a list of the Q&A's from your instructor and study them. You'll find that the they are mostly common sense and down to experience.

The CPC test itself didn't last more than 20/30 minutes, it was held mostly on the coach, after I performed the vehicle check. Show the examiner that you are competent at doing the check and more than likely you won't have to do the entire vehicle check. But I can't promise you that.
The examiner's seem to like you showing them the GVW plate and stating what is the Gross Vehicle Weight or MAM to them.

I wore my safety kit, hi-viz, boots/work shoes, and gloves.

The very best of luck mattser.
