Hi. Picked up one of the dashcams for €20 in Eurogiant. Obviously not expecting a lot for that money but it's just for a van I drive occasionally. Have a Ddpai m6 in car. Looking through settings on Eurogiant to see if it has feature where it continuously overwrites older footage. Just wondering if it's there?
Also, anyone know if the holder is available to buy separately for the ddpai m6. Would be ideal to be able to just swap the camera.

I've had two mini 0806 dashcams. I got the second because I dropped the first and suspected that I'd damaged it, but lo and behold the new one started acting up after a couple of weeks just like the old one had.

My opinion...if it works well for you, they're great....small and good video quality.

    If not, they're pure ****e.

BTW I used a transcend class 10 premium 400x micro sd 64 GB in one and a samsung EVO 64 GB. Made f00k all difference.

    Pure sh1te, both of them.

The 0806 is quite troublesome alright. It's a matter of going through all the firmware and picking one that is reliable for you. Older versions of the Mini series are meant to be more reliable!

I'm considering getting and older one for the front and wiring the 0806 for the rear window :)

I went into the settings on my Mini0805 today to stop it shutting off when my memory card is full, but I already have 'Recycle' set to 5 mins instead of being Off, as per the setting below.

Is there a setting I'm missing or is there something wrong with it?

My 0801 does the same. My daily habit is to format the card first thing in the morning. I think I get about 6 hours before it gives up

I am just about to pull the trigger on a Ddpai M6 Plus and I wanted to ask how people are powering it. Are people just routing a very long USB cable around the roof and down the door and back up to the power socket?

Yes, 3m should be enough for most cars.
In practice, the USB specification limits the length of a cable between full speed devices to 5 meters (a little under 16 feet 5 inches). For a low speed device the limit is 3 meters (9 feet 10 inches).Apr 28, 2015

Grand I was thinking that was what people were doing. Think I have a big USB cable lying around at home amongst my tech crap.

The cable supplied will most likely be long enough as one I got is.

Yep, and supplied cable was long enough. You can actually see it in the post I just put up in "Post a pic of your car...."

There is a hardwiring solution also, if you want to spend a bit extra.

I've found I needed a 5 meter cable to route it neatly behind trim and centre console. That was because I didn't have a fuse tap and had to plug into the lighter socket.

Just looking at the Ddpai M6 Plus and wondering about hard wiring in the car.

If I was to use fuse splitter would the following adaptor work?
    looks like a neat adaptor:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Boat-Motorcycle-2-USB-Car-Charger-DC-12V-To-5V-3A-Power-Adapter-Supply-/201402618867

I seen an "original DDpai" kit on ebay but saw someone mention on another forum that it only supplies 1.2A and the newer camera requires 2A, so this little 3A adpator should work?

What exactly do you get with the DDPAI if there needs to be adapters bought? Does it not some with a cigarette lighter plug and cable?

It does with a double USB plug in. 3 metre cable.

Yes it comes with everything you need to just plug in and go except the memory card.I ordered the memory card from them as well to make sure i got a card that would be well matched to the unit.I hardwired mine to the car which i recommend.
I went to Halfords who are very helpful and supplied everything i needed. They can also fit it for you if you wish.I am very happy with mine but it took 5 weeks to arrive from China plus the delay with customs who wanted €41 euro C.O.D.I did have the memory card and CPL filter as well.If i had to do it again i would order it from Amazon and save a lot of money. The CPL filter works very well to remove reflections from the dashboard.I read somewhere that any CPL can reduce the brightness at night but this one works well.

Polarisation alone will filter out around 30% (1 EV) of incoming non-polarised light... It is physical limitation, by definition.

Plus additional losses, such as reflections on the surfaces of the filter, will bring the effective loses close to 1.5 EV.

Hi guys, I don't have a dash cam, yet, and I'm not big into technology like cameras, but am going doing a bit of travelling and thinking of buying a GoPro, are they suitable to use as a dashcam also and would they be better quality? Thanks.

Got my DDPai M6 pro and I have to say I don't think I have ever seen a better packaged device. Everything came in its own little black box inside a quite nice larger box. The app is quite nice too and I like the Chinese lady saying stuff too :pac:

I went ahead and ordered a DDPai M6 plus from Amazon on Monday,

my mini 0806 has been playing up (I haven't checked it in a few months, but the last few times I did look, there were lots of missing files etc.. journeys would just stop recording mid journey!!), whereas the mini 0801 in the rear is almost 2 years old and doesn't miss a beat.
