Interior Bi-fold door.

Hi all,
We're in the process of having a big job done on our house, involving a rear extension. We love the idea of Bi-fold doors to give us the option to either separate the tow rooms or open them up into one big space. We're finding it hard to find suppliers of the internal doors. Most seem to be heavy duty external aluminium doors. Can anyone recommend a supplier in Dublin?

Have been advised to ask my carpenter to split a regular door in two!!!

I'm going to bump this again.

Seems to be plenty of companies that provide external bi-filding doors, but a lot more difficult to get interior ones. Anybody got any suggestions?

I was about to suggest the same supplier. I think what you are looking for OP is the type of folding wall/door that hotels use to separate conference rooms.

They come in all sorts of styles but they are NOT cheap. Also you will need a support structure in your ceiling to hang them from.

Edit: Crossed post - I'm not sure if they do the sort of thing you have pictured. They might be able to point you in the correct direction though!

I have given up on bifold doors.
I have been told in multiple stores that they were stocked during the boom, but no longer.
Saw this picture in the oct/nov edition of upstairs downstairs magazine.
Am going to try for something like this instead...

Pretty awful imo and kinda impractical to, I'd go for double doors there.

I was looking for bifold doors because double doors aren't practical for the space I have.
It's interior design, so it's personal taste!
I like it anyways.

Have you looking into pocket doors? I installed some in my own home not so long ago and were very cost effective aswell as being able to choose my own doors..just an idea!

But unfortunately I'm not allowed retrofit something like that.
If I ever have a new build, doors like that will definitely be included.

Just realised after I posted that I did see internal bifold doors on display in doors plus floors (no affiliation).

My idea of interior bifold doors are doors that are half the size of 'regular' doors.

I've just replied on a different thread in DIY But we installed Vufold doors in our living space this summer.
We sourced them through Heiton Buckleys. They look really sturdy and smart and are perfect for the space we need.

For me the pocket doors would involve building the partition wall, would have liked to be fully open the space between the room on occasions. Haven't fully ruled them out but the bifold at the moment are preferred.
